Shocking?..No, not really..it's obvious to anyone that watches the NFL on a regular basis. I would rather face Noodle Arm every game opposed to their mediocre back-up Chris Redman.

Mark Bradley
ESPN confirms it: Matt Ryan isn’t the King of the Deep (Pass)

http://blogs.ajc.com/mark-bradley-b...-it-matt-ryan-isnt-the-king-of-the-deep-pass/

"For all of you who have said, “Matt Ryan doesn’t throw the deep ball very well” … well, you’re right. Peter Keating of ESPN Insider has compiled lists of the NFL’s best and worst deep passers, and the Falcons’ quarterback is among the latter."

Classic comment's, "Matt Ryan – Michael Turner = Jason Campbell, Chad Henne, Rex Grossman, Matt Cassel, Kyle Orton". In response, "you forgott joey harrington lol"

Interesting stuff

Best deep throwers

As teams keep opening up their passing games -- spread formations, three-receiver sets and pass-catching tight end tandems are practically de rigueur around the league these days -- quarterbacks are seizing the chance to bomb away. Last year, just one quarterback, Drew Brees, threw for more than 1,000 yards on passes of more than 20 yards. This year, five are on pace to do so: Brees, Eli Manning, Cam Newton, Rodgers and Tony Romo. Even more impressive, from 2008 to 2010, only one quarterback (Brees in 2009) completed more than 50 percent of his passes on deep throws, while this season alone, three (Brees, Rodgers and Romo) are connecting on more than half their throws of more than 20 yards.

But honestly, it's really not his arm strength. He can hum it down field with ease. Its the accuracy, he has terrible accuracy beyond 15 yards.

Give me a bit and I willb post it. After what tebow just did, im gonna ask jesus if he's cool with it first.

This is correct. I thought I remembered him throwing nice deep passes during his rookie season. Maybe I'm wrong. Who cares?

It always seems like Ryan's passes deep are being thrown into the wind....it's strange. The balls in the air, looks decent, then it just looks like it hits a wall and falls short.

Like a duck struck by a bullet. :hihi:

With ease is a bit of an overstatement. He throws floaters, after which Shoddy White proceeds to push off and make a grab.

Yeah, ease is an overstatement. I just mean to say he can get the ball down field with good velocity, just wildly inaccurate.

He gets it downfield like I do and anyone else with a weak arm. Throwing it as high as possible.

I swear he scrapes the dome's top on some of his duck throws to White deep.

If you notice, when he throws deep it's usually very quickly after the snap and very high. He doesn't have the arm to lead a receiver deep.

That deep throw to Julio Jones in the Colts game was one of the worst passes I've ever seen.
