Dont know if any of you are aware of this or not but thousands have setup and peacefully demonstrating protest because of the corruption in wallstreet and goverment. It was a planned occupation. From what I understand the Major news networks are not covering this. I want you to be aware of this. I feel it is important to my fellow SRs.
Most Americans are being kept in the dark about the US Day of Rage by the corporate cable news giants at CNN, Fox News, and MSNBC who have imposed a de facto blackout on the protest.

Here are some articles on it.

What do they hope to accomplish with said demonstration?

“nonviolently disrupt the disloyal, incompetent, and corrupt special interests which have usurped our nation’s civil and military power, spawning a host of threats to our liberty, lives and national security,”

If all they hope to get done is a disruption...I don't get it. If they want coverage (something they appear not to be getting), they would have to turn violent. The turning violent would backfire upon them and they'd be painted as just another unruly mob.

We don't have legitimate citizen anger in this country. Only nuts and extemists are unhappy here.

Last I read they were being squeezed in by police and will likely be dispersed or rounded up.

Is this why my cab ride cost twice as much from the Lower East Side to Brooklyn on Saturday night? Screw them. Now they are the big-wigs. A fire and lack of life-longevity.

This is true. The only people who can actually create change have too much to lose by protesting. To get anything done, people need to take it to the streets in large numbers, and to do that, you have to risk your job, your health, your life, your cushy retirement, you safety, your comfort, your sofa, your tv. . .

In essence, we've traded our human dignity for creature comforts.

I'd take it to the streets about the TSA, but then I think about how much I like being able to watch football in the comfort of my living room and the rage magically disappears.

Great!! I am all for it. The Wall Street Casino Machine needs to be stopped.

So, I went down there today, to see what this is about. I can see why no one is covering it, it's not a story. It's basically a bunch of kids looking for attention. They aren't even on Wall St., they are at a park(2 blocks away from Wall St.), where I sometimes eat lunch. They are all early 20-somethings, dirty, unkempt; using buckets, tambourines and basically, any other things they have seen from the 60's, as instruments. NYC cops, many of them, are having to chaperone them, terrible. People stopped and gawked and took pictures, but it's pretty lame.

This is not taking it to the streets(JE). It's faux hippies making music/a scene in the park. Terrible.
