Official Gameday Thread Browns @ Saints (6 Viewers)

Can anyone remember a defensive holding call on a FG? And how is it an automatic first down?
I jumped in here hoping to see if anyone had an explanation because I’ve got nothing. How is defensive holding on a field goal attempt even possible? It worked out for us, but still. This doesn’t make sense.

they also called offensive pass interference on Jimmy Graham in a hail mary and that wasnt called before either. Announcers even said before "they never call opi on a hail mary" except for the Saints of course

Why are kickers missing fgs in the dome all of a sudden? This never happens!

I feel like I say we need to score every time we get the ball to start the second half and it seems like we often do the opposite.
We don’t need to score on this opening drive. :covri: :hihi:

I remember the Raiders got called for defensive holding on a FG against the Chiefs a couple years ago and the Chiefs ended up scoring a TD because of the automatic first down, So it's not unheard of.

Yup I remember that one. Never saw it before or since.

Defensive holding on FGA's happen when a defensive lineman pulls an OL out of the way creating a hole for another defender to try for the block. I didn't see it on that play.
