What exactly are you blaming him for? The ball was far out of bounds and uncatchable and the WR was hand-fighting with him.

He didn't give up on that play. He played it just fine and the refs screwed him.

He didn’t “play it fine” and the ball wasn’t so uncatchable that any ref would ever bail him out like that.

And he was lucky that the refs didn’t see the TD catch on the previous play when he wasn’t paying attention until the last second.

There is no defense for that play. As a professional defensive lineman, you should know whether or not a QB in your grasp is still trying or not. Clearly late, clearly unnecessary maneuvers. He should get a huge fine this week.

I disagree. QB are given every advantage. He's finishing the play in my opinion. The NFL fines players all the time after the fact for BS. That's not a standard I would hang my hat on.

I can come up with a long laundry list of Allen showing a lack of situational awareness when it comes to playcalling, a good portion of those coming in games where he's blown leads late (playoffs included). Defending a call where we're playing 8 yards off of WRs on 3rd and 4 seems like a weird hill to die on.

And I'll probably agree with your list, but still, you can't win games if you don't score points. And so far the offense has score 10 points in 6 quarters of football.
