Ohio State QB Will Howard (1 Viewer)

I watched the entire playoff game against Tennessee. I assure you, he's good. Maybe he's just a late bloomer. This is the age where players take the biggest strides in development, is it not? I'm trying to tell y'all, he looked polished and capable, and it was on a big stage in a high pressure spot.

Here's an article highlighting that performance, complete with breakdowns of his throws and percentages of playaction

I watched a lot more than one game. I assure you, he’s not

Just watching him play this year, I would think he's a 3rd or 4th round talent. He might go earlier, cause this year is a pretty weak draft. I don't think there's a single 1st round QB going this year.....but there'll be 3 or 4 drafted.
Sanders and Ewers are going 1st round.

That's the thing with young players. Sometimes they get better. His last showing was exceptional. He'll play again next Wednesday against Oregon. He may not be draftable, or he may be a riser like Burrow was. Guess we'll have more info next week.

Anyone watch that OSU vs TN game? I thought Howard was impressive and the offense looked prostyle with lots of motion. I looked up his scouting report and he was projected as a UDFA which was surprising to say the least.

Anyone think he could be a real player and that he's a late bloomer? The lights were brightest and he executed that offense to near perfection.
While he did look good in that game... I would flip that and say Tennessee played horrible and appeared to be out manned. They came in with a terrible game plan and made little to no adjustments. Seemed like every time he passed, the closest defender to the receiver was 2 or 3 yards away. Which makes sense since Ohio State seems to churn out NFL receivers

Seconded.
This. Every Ohio St QB looks great there. So much time to throw. GREAT running game, tremendous WRs. Will Howard not an NFL Qb
Yep. Watched every game, he’s not going to be a starter in the NFL. Maybe like Pocket said he will end up a good back up.

Having said all of that, hat’s off to him and that team as they demolished my team lol.

Go Ducks!

This.

He’s not good.
The fact he couldn't get Ohio State to the playoffs is pretty damning. That was the weakest offensive OSU team i have seen before Urban Arrived.

Those who are using the bowl game as evidence are using a faulty criteria. Those are nothing more than glorified exhibitions. I stopped watching them completely for past 5 years. They are unwatchable games.

Ohio State is in the playoffs. They beat Tennessee in the 1st round and are playing Oregon in the 2nd round.

Drafting a quarterback early will be dangerous until you can read quarterbacks' minds. The part you can see is easy to grade but so little of what it takes to be successful.
