Ohio State QB Will Howard (75 Viewers)

If Howard ever takes a NFL snap, it’ll go even worse than it went for Danny Wuerrfel!

Howard is NOTHING but a solid COLLEGE QB. He’s nowhere near as good as even DW was for the sAints.

I heard a radio host yesterday characterize Howard as "good, but not great." I think I'd use that description on just about every QB eligible for the draft this next time. They're all good, but definitely not upper-round good.

And he's not a QB, but wherever Cam Skattebo goes, whether in the draft or not, he'll be a fan favorite. He came close to singlehandedly beating Texas. ASU had no other weapons besides him, unfortunately.
Skattebo will be very lucky to even make a NFL roster out of Training Camp! He’s a good CFB RB but his game won’t translate at all! He’s seriously not even as good as Cody Schrader was for Mizzou last year!… and Schrader is a PS guy now at best!

I like the Skatts story, but let’s be real.

He’s a 4th round flier or later, and likely never plays a meaningful down in the pros

I’m good with Carr and Rattler at QB for another year … but if Skattebo is there even in the second, I’d be good with it. Third or fourth I’m in hell yeah mode

You might be right. I’ll more than willing to give up a fourth rounder to see if you are

That's where CBS puts him

Not to beat a dead horse, but he put his skills on display again against Texas. He has a cannon of an arm, fits the ball into tight windows with great accuracy, doesn’t take sacks and has excellent size. I guess I just don’t understand why he’s not considered the best QB of this class.

We must not be watching the same player.

75 of his 289 yards came on a screen pass. Not to mention it was his only TD and he threw a pick.

He has the best group of WRs since the 2019 LSU squad, which helps his stats. But he’s just not a great pro prospect.

If you're looking for a mid-round quarterback, this guy would be a steal in the early 4th. If he lasts that long.

Agreed 100%! I actually think he'll be considered the third best qb prospect by the time the draft rolls around. I really like him for the Saints. He's certainly miles more pro ready than Milroe as a QB.

With that said, I've often been wrong. I thought Haener would be good at the next level and well...

What is his game missing that makes him a pro prospect? Please point out a moment over his last three games to illustrate your point.

He's a better pro prospect than Spencer Rattler.

His size, arm, and pocket presence are legitimate strong points. And I don't think the thing about the screen pass is really fair. He lit up Oregon the week before with deep balls.

I don't know exactly where to slot him, but I bet he ends up a 3rd rounder at least, and I'd take him as a prospect over spending our 1st on a QB. I think we're taking a QB at some point in this draft.

Or at all. He's bad, real bad. Texas would have put up a better fight had they played Arch.
His decision making seems almost robotic at times. It doesn’t seem like he’s reading the defense but rather just waiting for the play to develop and that will get you killed in the NFL. His footwork stinks too for someone with that many games under his belt.

He's committed to the Senior Bowl. We will get a lot better of an idea of how NFL teams view him that week of practice and interviews. Internet scouts and draft sites are pretty hit and miss on prospects like Howard but it will be interesting to hear what comes out of Mobile. I certainly like his chances to bump Haener off of the active roster.
