NFL Draft OSU QB Will Howard (merged) (1 Viewer)

Does not have the accuracy required
His accuracy and touch are fairly solid. His processing speed and ability to make off-schedule throws/plays are hit & miss at the college level, and in the NFL, those qualities are even more critical to be a quality starter. I think the NFL game would be too fast for him initially, but with the right coaching, he'd have a chance with some experience.

I heard a radio host yesterday characterize Howard as "good, but not great." I think I'd use that description on just about every QB eligible for the draft this next time. They're all good, but definitely not upper-round good.

And he's not a QB, but wherever Cam Skattebo goes, whether in the draft or not, he'll be a fan favorite. He came close to singlehandedly beating Texas. ASU had no other weapons besides him, unfortunately.
Bruh! Skattebo would be on my team if I was coaching the Saints, I don't care where I have to draft him. Imagine him in the Taysom Hill role. He can throw, catch, block, and obviously run. Plus, he would be a super star in New Orleans.

Did not think any of these QB's were good in the playoff's. If LSU made it, Nuss would have been by far the best QB in the playoffs, even with his flaws.

Good for him, but in my opinion, he doesn’t have NFL-required accuracy on his throws and his deep ball is pedestrian.
You did notice the 81% Completion Accuracy for the game?

Those are outstanding numbers & they make him an excellent QB candidate for the NFL.

Superior talent at WR in CFB makes QBing look real easy. In the NFL, you can't underthrow a deep ball and expect the WR to slow up and still make an uncontested catch.
Correct but you can underthrow a deep ball and hope you get a pi at a critical juncture in the game in the NFL....especially if you wear a red uniform and it has arrowhead on the helmet..,.

CBS has him ranked in the fourth round. Things will change after the combine.

It all depends on his 40 time...
I'm guessing from watching him on tape is is a low 4.6 - 4.8 guy...
He doesn't have break away speed.

If he runs a 4.6 he will go in the 3rd.
Lower than 4.6 will make him in the 4th round or later...
4.5 means late 1st or 2nd round.
