Several of those players are not even in the NFL any more, arguably the two best, MT and Ramczyk. Ironically, we retained both of them. Damned on SR if you do, damned if you don't.Irelands first two draft classes that didn’t involve hold over scouts were 2016 and 2017.
Both classes included 8 picks in the top 100
2016
Sheldon Rankins
Michael Thomas
Vonn Bell
David Onyemata
Daniel Lasco
2017
Marshon Lattimore
Ryan Ramczyk
Marcus Williams
Alex Anzalone
Alvin Kamara
Trey Hendrickson
Al-Quadin Muhammad
Those two drafts brought the team back from the dead and yet, we only have two players left to show for it and one of them could be traded in a few hours.
Everything wrong w/ this team was the inability to to retain most of our homegrown talent.
Get Ireland some draft capital.
Just stop. How many all-pros have we drafted in the past 7 drafts?
Talk about moving the goal posts! How many all-pros have we drafted in the past 7 drafts?
Brah, you and I have went at it (respectfully) on a few differing issues over the years. I don't think either one of us has made our last stand on a such a ridiculous of a hill as the poster you quoted. Why even bother at this point? Some people are just . . .Talk about moving the goal posts!
How many All Pros did Anyone draft in 24? ZERO
23? ZERO
22? ZERO
21? 3 (Parsons, Surtain, and Hamilton) all 3 were drafted before we had our first pick.
20? 3 (Jefferson, Wirfs, and Winfield) 2 went before we picked, we picked Ruiz with Winfield on the board (Winfield was a 2nd rounder)
19? 3 (Bosa, Brown, Jenkins) 2 went before we picked AJ Brown was on the board when we picked McCoy
18? 3 (Nelson, Leonard, James) Only Leonard, a second rounder was available when we moved up for Davenport.
So out of the 1796 players drafted by NFL teams the last 7 years, only 12 have been All-Pros. of those 12, 9 of them were unavailable when we had our first pick.
So, since Ireland missed out on the 3 of 1796 players that have been All Pro, he is living on 2016/17?
Thats a RIDICULOUS position.
i had similar confusionHe means Lattimore and Kamara

Let's not start on Super Bowls!BuT wHaT aBoUt PrO bOwLs?
Sorry, these are not good draft picks. The fact that ur playing on a 2-7 team means ur not very good. Brian Branch or Foskey-mmmnot true.
While we whiffed in 2018 in 2019 we only had one second rounder a 4th rounder, a 6th, and 2 7th. We draftede 3 legitimate starters with that (McCoy, Ceedy Duece, and Ellis)
then in 2020 we only had 4 picks one first rounder (Ruiz) 2 3rds (Baun and Troutman) and Tommy Stevens. that's 2 quality starters and a still playing contributor.
in 21 Payton turner (great but often injured) Werner and Adebo with our first 3 picks, all starters
in 2022 Olave, Penning, Taylor, all starters, and DMarco Jackson is a role player-contributor
in 23 Bresee, Miller, Howden, all play significant snaps depending on the package we are in.
Saying Ireland is living off of 2016/17 is woefully inaccurate.
Tuttle and Roach were free agents. Baun cost 3 draft picks. Trautman 4, Olave 3. Stupidityand a lack of putting them in position to succeed. Which is why players like Onyemata, Tuttle, Roach, Baun, Ellis, and Hendrickson left New Orleans and go elsewhere and play great!
It's not scouting and drafting that was the problem.

It's possible I missed a few. I just looked at first team since you went all the way to "All Pro" Also I was only listing DRAFTED players. Several All Pro guys were UDFA (For Example Saints' own Shaheed) so I dont know if they got counted in your count or not, but if you keep going throught the lists, you will see they are largely the same players over and over.I don't know where you go that info from but it's wrong. I just looked at last year's all-pro team and found 4 from 2018, 5 from 2019, 5 from 2020, 2 from 2021, and 1 from 2023. That list would only grow if I looked at the 2018-2022 all-pro teams.
