The other teams choose to receive because they don't want us getting up 7-0 on them in first minute.

we have won the toss but have elected to defer to the second half on at least two games this year.
I thought there was an NFL rule that the team that loses the toss gets the ball in the second half regardless of whether or not the toss-winning team chooses receive or kick. So NFL teams always choose to receive when winning the toss.
Not true. This is the rule:
NFL Rules Digest: Coin Toss
Coin Toss
- The toss of coin will take place within three minutes of kickoff in center of field. The toss will be called by the visiting captain before the coin is flipped. The winner may choose one of two privileges and the loser gets the other:
(a) Receive or kick
(b) Goal his team will defend- Immediately prior to the start of the second half, the captains of both teams must inform the officials of their respective choices. The loser of the original coin toss gets first choice.
N/S: Do you think some NFL games are fixed?
~0.78% chance of happening, we're due!
