Pacific Rim (1 Viewer)

Was that Jax from Sons of Anarchy's voice in the beginning of the movie? And I thought I saw him in the movie also...

And I checked IMDB and it is him. Also Ron Pearlman (Clay) is in the movie as well.

Yes, as I said before, this is one I believe I will go to. Nice footage!

That last scene in the footage (the freighter) has to be the single most bad *** thing I have ever seen on film! I am so going see this!!!!

If you haven't seen this yet, DO IT. It did not disappoint me in any way. And for once, I can say that yes, the 3D was worth it. I wish I had an IMAX theater in town. This is THE theater experience of the summer. If it doesn't make a billion dollars, it's a crime. It knows exactly what kind of movie it is, and it executes it to perfection. Please, go see this movie. Hollywood needs to produce more stuff like this and less junk like Grown Ups 2.

Now I wish I would have seen it in 3D. I was worried the 3D would make the effects too dark.

I agree with your review. It was campy but it meant to be and it did it with style. The characters were like live action cartoon characters and they executed it well. There were a billion plot holes and you didn't even care because they didn't try to make you think any of it was plausible, just that it was fun.

I enjoyed it far more than I expected too. I'll probably check it out again in 3D based on your comments here.

at theater now waiting for it to start ...

I was out of town on business M-W, and came home Thursday afternoon. My 9 year old son attacked me at the door saying "Daddy, please take me to see Pacific Rim tonight!!! There's a 7:15 show!!!"

Dude, I was tired as heck, but I did tell him I would take him when we first saw the trailer months ago - I just thought it came out later this month for some reason.

The freaking movie was visibly awesome and I went into it expecting it to be terrible. Not too much of a story line, but what the heck - the action was great and there was some good laughter as well. Go check this one out.

i went to the premier last night in IMAX at Elmwood.
sweet jesus that was fun. what a ride.
this movie is what theaters were made for.
