Pass coverage lapses is the difference between 2-2 and 4-0 (1 Viewer)

No, no matter how many times you post it.

The D held the Eagles to 15 points.
The D held the Clowns to 12 points, 9 of them from FGs from 50+ yards. The Clowns crossed the Saints' 20 once, and didn't score a TD.

The D has allowed 1 TD in 2 games, both games losses.

If you D holds opposing teams to 15 points and 12 points, respectively, in a dome setting to boot, and your team loses, the D is not the problem.

And like I told you on the gameday board, you are expecting the 2000 Ravens.

It's tough to blame a defense that didn't give up a touchdown in the game but the thread starter is right...This season so far in both close games the defense has a mental lapse that cost the game. But to be fair you can't give a team 14 points with stupid mistakes.

You are going to draw a lot of clowns and dead falcons for this post, but I get what you're saying. It's not the overall defense, but if you need the defense to hold up with the clock running out it's going to be a loss. We all knew it when there was 1:00 on the clock that we were going to lose this game. Same as last week.

Defensive lapses in the secondary is the difference between 2-2 and 4-0
Blaming these on the defense is mind blowing to me.

Eagles held scoreless for three quarters. 2 TO's that result in zero points.
Todays game the defense holds to 12 points we lose because of 14 points given up by the offense and special teams.

If we score points and don't make stupid mistakes on offense and special teams we win these game. I refuse to blame the defense for these horrible losses. They are the best unit on the team by far.

Paulson Adebo directly lost us this game with an extremely dumb penalty. Rashid Shaheed’s muffed punt and Carr’s interception put us in that position. Complete team loss, in my opinion.

I call that the D.A special there.

Todays game was an example of bad coaching. The team is either coaching the team to.play this way or they are allowing it.

You keep putting the defense in that spot, you're gonna lose more often than not. To win these games, the offense and STs have to stop giving away points.

That and Allen's going for it on 4th twice when he could have taken points and that would have been the difference in both games.

The bottom line is this isn't the Ravens defense of the early 2000s. This is a defense that can keep you in games. The offense and STs need to carry their share of the load to win.
