The fact that we've only selected one QB in round one in our history, and that was Archie Manning forever ago.
That's a crazy stat.

If you include supplemental draft the fewest first round qb picks per team is 2. Saints, Seahawks, Cowboys, and Texans. Only the regular draft it’s 1. Both the Saints and Cowboys. Aikman was the only first round qb drafted by the cowboys not counting Walsh who was drafted in the supplemental draft… just a few months after they drafted Aikman 1st overall. The fact that we've only selected one QB in round one in our history, and that was Archie Manning forever ago.

Drew was old Lamar was a heisman winner with a arm it made plenty of sense if your using forward thinkingAnd while it easy to say we missed on Lamar (along with everyone else), we still had DB coming off 5,200 yards and 37 TDs.
Lamar didn't really make a lot of sense for us at the time, and we had an excellent 2017 draft.
I know it’s not perfect but for my sanity and to limit the number of what ifs I grouped them by round. Every qb drafted in first round was assumed to have a first round grade and therefore were available for the Saints if they were still on the board. And then every qb drafted in the second same thing. So yes drew was available for the saints first round pick but since he was drafted in the second I gave him a “second round grade” and worked under the assumption the saints would draft someone with a first round grade in the first round. Then he was off the board by the time the Saints picked in the second. Same with hurts and others. Now if we just lump them all together that obviously adds more names to who the Saints could have drafted. Including Cunningham who was also one of my favorite QBs growing up.Where is Drew Brees and Jalen Hurts?
It should just be after the first round pick and until the end of the 2nd
Actually not true. Drew was on record saying that at some point, he knew that he eventual successor would be drafted. Plus, had we drafted Lamar, then maybe Drew doesn’t stick around for as long as he did bc he got to the point where he was on a year to year basis. I’m sure that Drew hung around longer than he wanted to. He will say that he was cool with staying until 2020, but I’m sure he came back bc the thought of TB12 being the QB here was repulsive to him. Plus, Lamar would’ve seen the field regardless if Drew was here. Drew was cool with TH7 eating and I’m sure he would’ve been fine with Lamar eating. In fact, having Lamar get some packages could’ve taken hits away from DB and TH7. To go further, could you imagine packages with DB, TH7, AND Lamar on the field at the same time? Or just Lamar and TH7?And while it easy to say we missed on Lamar (along with everyone else), we still had DB coming off 5,200 yards and 37 TDs.

I don’t disagree with anything you said, but SP was chasing championships while he still had DB. It didn’t make sense to him to use a R1 pick on a player that wouldn’t get on the field much.Actually not true. The only problem with that assessment is that we traded up for a raw project DE. Everyone and I mean everyone…..thought that when it was announced that we were trading up, it was for Lamar Jackson. Do you not remember the Draft broadcast? When the name Marcus Davenport was announced, the commentators were shocked, and they quickly said “Yeah i didn’t see that coming” bc no one in their right mind, thought that we would not get our QB of the future, but hey, I’m sure a franchise that was so void of drafting Franchise QBs, knew that Lamar would never hold a candle to the Supreme-ness of the Marcus Twinky Dink Davenport!!!I don’t disagree with anything you said, but SP was chasing championships while he still had DB.
