Pat Kirwan said he heard Carr didn’t want to do Saints contract restructure (157 Viewers)

Gone out of his way? Or some idiots just saw him posting pics of his kids eating at Chipotle and started some sheet?
I remember when he was signed and the Benson family sent him a care package with Pelicans jerseys and tickets to the game, he posted pics on his IG of the kids opening their "presents" and then pics of his whole family attending the Pels game that night. I didn't see anyone posting about that on here or on that sheethole called Twitter.

But when he first arrives and his kids/wife want Chipotle because they're familiar with the food... "this guy doesn't want to be here.... he doesn't appreciate the food.... he doesn't love NOLA.... blah blah blah"
forking clown sheet.
And right on cue... Thought you were banned, don't you have the Harvester Podcast to do?

Like I said, never took hating on him for Chipotle seriously, I get it. He just moved to a new city and has no clue what's good so you go where your kids know.

I know this won't happen, but if he doesn't want to be here, I'd just sit him all season. Let things play out however they do and he can mope on the bench.
As you suggest, the team can’t sit someone they’re paying $40 mil to; FO should have worked out a trade.

Who cares? Derek signed the restructure.
Two years ago when the team put into his contract, not this past week. I'll bet he figured they'd never pay him beyond his guaranteed money and he would be free to go get another 3-5 year deal with another team. We've now prevented that and he's likely going to look bad next year and won't get as much in 2026 if we decide to cut him.

If only that were true, lol. You've must have missed the internet the last 20 years. You see so many respectable reporters start reaching for big "news". It quite sad how many I've seen fall from grace.

Don't kid yourself, they all have something to gain from your views or they wouldn't do it. You have to read everything with skeptism and common sense.

I often times find that when people say they believe in common sense, what they mean is the things that I believe and will not change my mind about regardless of all of the evidence to the contrary. So, yeah, common sense.

Because they converted his salary to a bonus, they are going to have to pay him the $40 million regardless of if he is on the team or not. That is unless Carr negotiated a deal to give money back and he's obviously not going to do that.

Don’t get banned playing around bud
Some people will try to get you put off of here lol
If Andrus and the mods want to ban me for calling out guys named Sinkers or AmericanHeroJameis for ridiculous behavior after my 27 years on this forum and IronEra, so be it. I'd say it was worth it.

That's an interesting take considering:

There is nothing common sense about the claims being made. Common sense tells you that teams with more talent, less injuries and better coaching win.
So is "common sense" only valid when it's your "common sense."

That's funny, that's why he said in that ESPN article. "id be willing to restructure, and help the team that way but no...i wouldn't take a paycut" He quite literally didn't know that the restructure is in the contract, Underhill posted the language in his contract weeks ago. If the team approached him about a restructure that he'd be willing to negotiate but apparently he didn't realize that they don't have to approach him at all.

Hilarious....if you love the city the city will love you back...if you don't. Well hahahhahahahahah
And what if the city hates you 1st , even before you take your 1st snap??

I think that more has been made out to this than is actually there. If Carr doesn't want to be here, I don't see Moore hitching his wagon to Carr because he would have a very short career as a HC if that was the case. But I can also see Carr not wanting to stay with the Saints if they were going full rebuild and not trying to win, and I don't think it was clear early on which direction they were going. But it seems pretty clear than Carr and Moore are on the same page, even in nobody else is even reading the same book.
Excatly, I'm sure that ML and CKM had at length talks about DC and all the possible ways it could go. And I'm sure that CKM would much rather start his HC tenure with a QB that is an above avg starter that he knows more than Rattler or any other cheap vet QB or even a rookie.

I also don't doubt that DC had /has major trepidations about being here. I mean how could he not? A vitriol spewing majority of the fan base that boos you in your 1st yr here and blasts you about where you take your family for your 1st meal with your kids. You should be ashamed of yourself.

I also think that the click bait chasers had to fan the flames of the DC hate by saying that CKM was non-commital on DC's future with the team, when in FACT he viewed DC as the teams starting QB all along.
I think that CKM and DC had a nice long conversation when time permitted, after he was hired and they are on the same page. I think all are fully committed to winning the most games they can this yr.

To quote Billy Shakes " Tis much ado about nothing"

Sorry but fans from other cities don't bash you for where you have your 1st meal with your KIDS. and say you're wearing eyeliner
I agree. Our fanbase has been a little much lately with negativity in general and I think he could've gone to another team with much less hate and a 2 or 3 year contract. That being said he was the biggest part of our puzzle to get cap compliant and make the moves we've been making so we were never going to let that happen. And let's face it..hes the best qb on our roster and although he isn't the best in the league there is much much worse. Could be Trevor Lwrence for $275 million.

Reminds me of Keanu Neal's (Falcons) line when he was mic'd up versus us several years ago.

"They don't like us. We don't like them."

Basically a TLDR on Carr and Saints fans relationship.
LOL the issue is not that. DC DID like us. He came here on purpose, He wanted to be here. And from before he took his first snap he got blasted for where he took his wife and kids to eat their 1st meal. Blasted for personnel stuff , like the eyeliner nonsense. We had people join this site with the sole intention of personally attacking DC and did nothing but that. And you all took the bait
