Apologies if this is old news, but just now on Movin the Chains Kirwan said Carr’s agents had to read him the part of his contract that stated the Saints could restructure it any way they choose. He didn’t know that was in his contract. Does anyone know why Carr would oppose this restructuring, unless it had to do with him not wanting to be on the team?

Definitely think he would rather be released, get his money, and a shot at landing on a team needing a qb that would sign him to a multi year deal with fans that don't bash him. Also think this could lead to a qb pick in the draft because if not we'll be one of those teams signing Derek 2.0 for $40 mil per year.

Hmmm....Albert Breer may have been onto something.

Restructuring adds time to a contract. It’s clear Carr probably isn’t thrilled about staying any longer than he has to - I mean, it’s not like he’s felt an outpouring of love from the city or the fan base.

Where might that be

No, but players shouldn't be mad bc they are getting money turned into a bonus upfront, sort getting as much guarantee money as possible. Also, a few years back, Underhill had stated, all players of the Saints, contracts have these restructures written in the contracts, so the Saints don't have to ask for permission.

Good info. Thanks.
