NFL Patriots looking to trade QB Joe Milton III (4 Viewers)

To sell high to some team

Or to remove the question about who their QB1 is with Drake Maye. The Jaguars did the same thing with Trevor, they got rid of Minshew so Trevor wouldn't have to look over his shoulder.

He'd be a developmental QB. He's not the only developmental QB out there, but he potentially fits the mold of what a prototypical CKM QB is to develop.

Please trust when I say this guy is not good. Training camp MVP bc of amazing physical skill but he can't use any of it correctly. Vols should've had 1 maybe 2 losses that year but we went 8-4.

This. When Mayo was coach last year he gave Milton every opportunity to take the reigns over Maye. Milton couldn't do it even when Maye was struggling in training camp, preseason and early in the season (and boy did Maye struggle hard early on).

Milton is a guy who can make a great splash play from time to time but just can't QB consistently. He had the same issues in college but it was less obvious because it was college.

99.9% of QB's making it to the 5th round or more will not be starters in the NFL. The idea of putting our hopes into two of them makes zero logical sense.

But we already have that with Rattler without having to spend another draft pick. Joe Milton is the ultimate tease. Big bodied guy with a cannon for an arm. But when he got hurt at UT, there is a reason most UT fans wanted Hooker to keep the starting job. Milton is wildly erratic and inaccurate at the worst times. I watched every play at UT and I can't tell you how many times he overthrew a wide open guy streaking down the field for a TD. And don't let his size fool you into thinking he would be a good mobile QB. He runs very timid. In his lone game in the NFL he rushed 10 times. for 16 yards. averaging 1.6 a carry...and a fumble. Yes it was the Bills but he has always ran like that. Compare to Rattler who rushed 18 times for 146 yards (8.1 per carry) and a fumble. Milton's longest pass completion was 48 yards. Rattler's was 41. Sure if the Pats want to trade him for a 6th or 7th then I guess you could take the gamble. But my guess is they know what they have in him...also know he had 1 good game last year...and wisely floated the prospect of trading him to see if they can get anyone to bite. If Milton turns into a good NFL starter I will gladly eat crow but from what I've seen of him...it's a pass for me.

Kellen already has his guy. No need to trade picks for a guy that won't play.
Exactly. Why would we waste draft capital or any assets on another QB? Kellen Moore has HIS guy at QB who is only 34 years old. CKM loves Derek Carr so why would we try to get any QB other QB as we already have two young back-ups.
