Payton Turner Healthy Entering Training Camp 2024 (1 Viewer)

So here’s what happens. He finally stays healthy, gets double digit sacks and we let him walk in the offseason where he goes on to become a perennial probowler for an AFC team.

Or he stays the same guy that we have become accustomed to, he walks in the off season, and signs with a team like the Vikings.

Bet $100 that he does not even play ten games this season.

And I hope to be wrong, I'm rooting for him.

Drafted Davenport with multiple first rounders, had to let Hendrickson walk due to cap constraints, followed up with drafting Payton Turner in the first round. What a mess of a situation on the edge over four years!

At least Granderson turned out good and helped the situation.

Comparing Turner to Davenport is a real kick in the teeth to Davenport. As much as a bust Davenport ended up being, he had 4 times as many sacks as Turner his first 3 years. Turner is a next level bust. If he is healthy, its the NFL. Not For Long.

Soo for now at DE we have:

Cam, CG, Young. Turner, n Foskey( probably another DE r 2 as well)

Tanoh is out right now, n I dunno if/when he’s gonna return.

Both Turner n Young are coming off injury. Cam was banged up much of last season.

That leaves only CG n Foskey, who struggled as a rook, as the only “healthy” DEs 🫣 ! Already sent up lotsa thoughts n prayers, 🙏🏽🙏🏽🙏🏽 for the D line, n hope a FEW get answered!

🤞🏽🤞🏽🤞🏽

Here’s a couple:

1/ Hopefully Cam can get back to his play in ‘22: 66 tackles, 13 TFLS, n 8.5 sacks!

2/ Quiet as kept, DT Nate Shepherd, who played mostly next to Cam at 3Tech had a solid 1st year for us: 50 tackles, 4TFLs, 9 QB hits n 3.5 sacks! His backup, BB, had 24 tackles, 7 TFLs, 9 QB hits n 4.5 sacks! That’s a combined 74 tackles, 11TFLs, 18 QB hits, n 8 sacks! That’s really nice production from that position! I look for both, ESP Bresee, to up their game this season!

3/ But IF Cam can go back to bringing dat pressure off the edge, n IF Shep n BB can STILL push dat pocket up the middle, IMO the ENTIRE D line is gonna EAT this season!

We’ll see!
