Peter King’s comments on Jalen Hurts (1 Viewer)

There was a play last week where Philly was close to its end zone - it was a run and I think there was a run blitz- all Hurts had to do was get in front of rusher and his RB at least makes it back to line
Instead he touches the rusher like he’s got cooties resulting in a 3yd loss

That being said, we’re well passed the ‘qb needs to be a barking dog’ era
And next play he takes a safety. That “olé” attempt at a block was really strange. I immediately thought of Cam Newton not willing to jump on his own fumble and instead back out of the way’ in the Super Bowl no less. Hurts definitely seems like he isn’t very well liked. Don’t know if it’s the money teammates are jealous of, if he is selfish and all about himself, or if it’s all being blown out of proportion, but it sure seems like there is no chemistry whatsoever with him and the rest of the team.

I don't agree with the bolded. If an offensive player screws up then the QB which is almost always the leader of the O and team captain should be the first to get on their case. Drew ofeten did it. if after the player makes the same mistake 2-3 times the Coaches should get involved.

Too often the barking becomes a standin for Leadership- we all know middle managers who think barking is a motivational tool
Every now and then it’s needed but not nearly as much as it’s used

Peter King is the same phony who bashed Saints players like Vilma during the bounty scandal. He was the mouth piece of the NFL spreading lies and setting the franchise back from becoming a dynasty. I don’t care what he says or thinks about anything. How did he get the job? Is he apart of the good ole boys network or did he get a deal from Goodell. What a little phony Peter phony King is.

When they were winning last year and he was performing well, they would say ‘he leads by example’. ‘Humble leader’. Now that theyre losing his demeanor is all of a sudden a negative thing. Hurts took a step back this season for sure, but i don’t question his leadership or toughness.

Meh, talk about a zero-sum town. I don't know what happened to them this year, but I won't knock a guy who was going toe-to-toe with Mahomes in the Super Bowl almost a year ago just because of a late-season collapse. I think losing both coordinators hurt the team more than people realize.

Hurts has always been this way. Go back and look at his film from his time at Bama. He’s no different.

King is nothing more than click baiter. Go back and read his nonsense during the bountygate fiasco. He’s no different.

There was a play in that Eagles Bucs game when Hurts made a business decision (rather than throw a block for his running back). They were down plenty, and the rb was cutting back trying to make something out of nothing, and Hurts couldn’t do anything but move out of the way (when the defender was right by him).

He lost me on that play.

Hurts had already checked out at that point. :(

I could never listen to him because of his voice inflection. But the "bountygate" crap put him in the crapper, as far as I'm concerned.

Eagles are gonna draft a QB. They have very little patience for underperforming QBs.

Stay quiet, Jalen.
I’m not any kind of expert on contracts but don’t see how with the extension he signed. Maybe it’s team friendly and they can get out of it, idk. Looks like they are married to him from first glance to me.

I liked King during the post-Katrina San Antonio debacle. He kept a spotlight on the situation and called out San Antonio politicians for being vultures during an unprecedented time.

I believe King even purchased Saints season tickets for the 06’ season as a show of support for the return to the Dome.

But I do agree that he was very “league mouthpiece” during Bountygate and that was very disappointing.

He’s one of those guys who has seen his audience erode with the shift towards the open debate format of sports “journalism”. I honestly can’t remember the last time (before today) I read something from him.

I don't know why anyone on this site reads Peter King after Bountygate.

Peter King also reported he is pretty sure, no, really sure that it's just a matter of time before CSP is the coach of the Cowboys.....

No....really this time....he means it.....
