1. New England (11-2). In the past 29 days, the Pats have won at Pittsburgh, Chicago and Detroit, and beaten Indianapolis and the Jets at home. I'd say that's satisfactory to name them the best team in football. That plus the fact they've beaten two nine-win teams in the past week by a combined 71 points. Whoa.

2. New Orleans (10-3). Tough call, leapfrogging them over three very good teams. But their offense looks back to 2009 levels, at least in terms of diversity and production. Remember when the Saints were dying to get Reggie Bush and Pierre Thomas back? Well, they've got them back now -- and New Orleans scored four touchdowns Sunday against the Rams, with zero coming from their two rehabbed offensive spark plugs.

3. Atlanta (11-2).

Well we only scored 3 TDs yesterday on offense, a detail he probably should not have missed.

Nonetheless, his point is valid. With Reggie and Pierre, the sky is the limit.

The screen pass is back, baby!

If youre only referring to the quoted part, he doesnt say we scored 4 offensive TDs... He was making a point that we scored 4 TDs with none coming from Bush or PT. Sort of a "so you can only imagine what it'll be like once theyre 100% back in the flow of the game"

If you count the call back by JGraham it would be 4...:ezbill:

I truly think the Saints are a better team than the Falcons, but you cant rank us ahead of them right now. We have to beat them on MNF first. Pats at number one is an easy call.

It would be nice to see the Saints and Patriots collide in the Superbowl.

Atlanta should be ahead of the saints:

- They have a better record
- They have beaten us straight
- Their winning streak is one game better then ours
- Their schedule is way easier

Now, being said that, if the saints can't get home field, I want Atlanta to have the best record in the conference.

I do prefer to play the NFC championship there. I have no doubts that we can beat them at home. I prefer to face Atlanta then Philly or the Giants at home.

We won't play the NFC Championship there.

How many times do i have to read this from our fans. Unless we are the 6 seed, we will match up with the Falcons in the 2nd round of the playoffs.

5 seed plays 4 seed. Winner of that game plays the #1 overall seed, unless the 6 seed upsets the 3 seed.

6. Baltimore (8-4). Ravens get back to their complex around 4:45 tomorrow morning from the Monday-nighter in Houston, and Greg Mattison and staff will continue preparations for the Saints. [When teams play on Monday night, coaches spend some time over the weekend and during the day Monday gameplanning for the following week, though they wouldn't want you to know that lest you think their "focus'' is diluted.] All New Orleans has done in the last five games is put up 34, 34, 30, 34 and 31 points.

VERY short week for the Ravens. :9:

It all depends on how the playoff games will go... As of now, we only know that if things stay the same, we will play St-Louis at their dome on the first round.

I guess I think that the saints will win 2 games before facing Atlanta, who I think may win their playoff game after the bye.

Exactly, meaning that we still can play the Falcons in the Conference game if the 6 seed wins and we win as the 5 seed. I don't get your point unless it's that the 6 seed won't win.:idunno:

That doesn't make much sense... power rankings are all opinion. So, if you believe the saints are a better team how can you rank them below the falcons.
