PJ Williams & Kwon Alexander (1 Viewer)

Is anyone else surprised that these guys haven't been signed?
Very surprised especially Kwon and PJ has really played well over the last several years. I hope we get those guys back but yeah I will keep up hope until they sign elsewhere. I would guess that they are talking to them but and if they are what are their numbers are as far as contact demands.

I think both guys are testing the market to see what they can get. The longer they are out there the better the chance of them coming back gets. With Kwon they can likely replace his on the field play with Warner, but Kwon's swagger and intensity can't be replaced.

So, as usual, the Saints likely have a number they will go to for both guys and if the guys take that number they sign here. If not they move on.

This is the way the Saints do it with free agents. They place a value, offer a contract, and then they wait. Some players get better offers and leave (TA, Williams, Ingram) and some come back. Once in a while they pull an offer after replacing a player who doesn't sign, such as Ingram.

PJ, Kwon and TQS are likely all coming back at the number the Saints set for them.

We need both back. I hope that it happens. Kwon's speed and athleticism is not on this roster. PJ's versatility and knowledge of this system is needed as well.

I know our guys understand that this is a business, but they want to see our own get taken cared of. We have seen Hendrickson, Williams and Armstead let go after also letting Vonn Bell go for Malcolm. At some point you have to keep good players and show others that if you ball out we will pay you. Not we will keep you here as long as you are cheap. I understand salary cap issues, but I'm sure some of our defenders don't like seeing Marcus gone after seeing Taysom get money he didn't deserve imo. That one is still a head scratcher to me

Such a good point. That swagger, confidence, and bravado have been so important to this defense. These guys know how good they can be and they have fun playing the game. I love the way they communicate out there. They play with passion and intensity and that stuff is contagious.

I mean, you can't keep everyone and we certainly showed with Ramczyk, Lattimore, and Kamara that we will pay top dollar for top players. And we paid top LT money to Armstead for many years.

I like when someone says exactly what I would say except better.
