Article PJ Williams named NFC defensive player of the week. (1 Viewer)

It's amazing what a key play can do for your stats and your confidence!

I hope he continues to build up both. :9:

100% agree. He was responsible for 14 points. His force fumble was the biggest play in the game, a 10 or 14 point swing depending on how you look at it.

Good for him. Now, hopefully Crawley can get defensive player of the week this coming up game . . .

Nice rebound for him. He should be as lauded for that as he was castigated for giving up the bad plays in earlier games. Hope he keeps improving.

I agree with this. He did seem to be in position on several of those throws, he just got beat by near perfect throws and catches imo. I hope this is the catalyst to boost his confidence and bring out the best in him. Happy for the young man regardless.

Sorry but this is a case of a broken clock being right twice a day. The two turnovers were nice, but the "forced fumble" was not earned by PJ (Anzalone did it) and the pick-six was not earned at all (Diggs inexplicably stopped on the route). It was obvious that the Vikings targeted PJ as the weakest of our 11 defenders, and it was equally obvious that they were right to do so. That's why PJ had these opportunities - the Vikings were operating toward his area whenever possible. We can hope that the turnovers and this award boost his confidence and his play. But this award was certainly not earned, and apparently was determined by people who looked at stats and not the game. One could easily count five of our defenders who deserve it more.

honestly his "bad" plays were just incredible plays by their WRs - the over the helmet catch is a prime example
the pick 6 is 'lucky' but he was in excellent position to take advantage of the 'luck'
the forced fumble was just good football

Honestly have no idea how lol I mean yeah he made those 2 plays but he also gave up 2 easy TDs

As bad as he was we also might not win without them. That pick 6 was massive, arguably our best defensive play this year.
