A lot of mis-information being posted.

Use the ESPN NFL playoff simulator people, before posting playoff scenarios.

Even if the Niners win out, the Saints are in if they themselves win out. It is that simple.

SAINTS CONTROL THEIR OWN DESTINY, BY WINNING OUT. They could also end up as the 6th seed. Though being the 6th seed does not matter all that much.

(EDIT; I see some posts were made during the Niners game Thursday night).

But as of NOW, the Saints just need to win out. That is all. 😎 They can still get in, even should they lose tonite. But that is something not to count on happening.

I think you have to start your scenarios with a loss tonight.
From the ESPN machine, if the Saints win out, even after a loss tonight, and they're still in.

The scenarios start when you split the next 2 NFC south games.

Are you expecting the 49ers and or eagles to completely collapse?

Saints lose tonight, they'll need help to get in boss

Saints finish 3-0 they don't need nobody help to get in. They're in

Yes, it is a fact that at this moment the Saints do control their own destiny for the 7th Seed in the playoffs. But this is what really makes the situation for the game tonight so crushing. Remaining in the driver's seat will only be possible if we can win with an EXTREMELY crippled team against an opponent who is EXTREMELY desperate for a win themselves in regard to their postseason hopes.

A loss for the Saints tonight would put us right back into relying on other teams to take care of business for us. And that NEVER works! Perhaps all of our players should have used their Navage units right before getting swabbed for Covid. That might have given us a fighting chance. 🤷‍♂️

I used the ESPN machine and had set it where both 49ers and Eagles also wins out.

Yeah, we need help if Saints lose tonight, whoops...Which, the help will most likely happen. I don't see SF beating LA in week 18

the strange scenario is if the 49ers win out, then we need the Vikings to win out to create a 3 way tie with the Eagles and Us in order to get in. It's the only scenario where we want the Vikings to win out.

If I recall correctly, over the last few seasons the Vikings have not given us any playoff help in December. Let's hope we don't need them to win out to get in.

They won’t need to collapse at all. If the saints lose tonight they need the Niners to lose to the Rams.. if that happens and we win both NFC games we are in. That’s not really a collapse as SF should lose to the Rams if the Rams care at all about seeding. That’s the only question

It is safe to say everybody on this forum wants us to win out. The Playoff Machine threads are there to help us cope in light of playing the Dolphins with our second-string guys (some of whom were last year's third-string guys ) and rookie fourth-string QB.

since 2019 to present the 49ers are 5-0 vs the rams

the last game they played, the 9ers made their DL look like pop warner rejects.

I don't see the 49ers taking their foot off the gas pedal at all versus the rams.

History is not in the saints favor in this case.

49ers own the rams. McVay just can't keep up with Shanahan imo when both teams are fairly matched up personnell wise.

Shanahan playcalling seems to hit another level versus those guys.

We’re down 21 players and multiple coaches. Winning out sounds great, but I’m not getting my hopes up. But there are other scenarios where SF and Philly lose, so I’m not losing all hope of a playoff spot.
We all need to be in this mood tonight and in the days ahead so that we won't be writing a bunch of nonsense about the ridiculous expectation(s) we had for this game against Miami. We all know the odds are extremely low that we will come out on top tonight. Let's not suddenly act surprised that we didn't perform like a well-oiled machine.

Keep in mind that all the players on Miami's Covid reserve list are all BACKUP players. None of their starters will be missing tonight's game due to the Covid protocols. Whereas we will be fielding a team that has approximately half of our regular starters missing (though some are out due to issues not involving Covid testing).

If we were to win tonight, Hollywood movie makers wouldn't even look at a screenplay of this story because the premise of such a movie would be too unbelievable. This is simply the worse thing that could have happened to the Saints at the worst possible time. :covri:
