They won’t need to collapse at all. If the saints lose tonight they need the Niners to lose to the Rams.. if that happens and we win both NFC games we are in. That’s not really a collapse as SF should lose to the Rams if the Rams care at all about seeding. That’s the only question

You pointed this out in another thread. Some posters keep mentioning the Eagles. They aren't our main concern. It's
the Niners. We have an advantage over the Niners if we finish in a 3 way tie . We also get in if both finish 9-8 and
the Eagles win out. If this had been like previous seasons with only 6 playoff spots,the head to head loss to the Eagles
would be huge and our chances would be bleak.

Right now we have a 45% chance to make the playoffs. We win tonight the percentage goes up to 60. So we can all stop with the " tonight's game has little effect on our play off chances." It does! I personally believe we have a better chance to win tonight than we do winning the following 2 games against division opponents.

Agreed. If we lose tonight we'd need the Niners to lose one more. They play Houston next week and finish up
with the Rams. I don't give the Texans much of a chance. The Niners are to the Rams what we are to the Bucs.
They match up very well. The Niners are on a 5 game winning streak against the Rams and it isn't a fluke. They
have dominated the Rams on both lines of scrimmage during that stretch. I'd rather win all three and not depend
on help.

the last game they played, the 9ers made their DL look like pop warner rejects.

I don't see the 49ers taking their foot off the gas pedal at all versus the rams.
