Possible small school draft picks? (1 Viewer)

Hey guys, dont post very often and some people are gonna hate me hard for this but in the end we're fans and we are allowed to look ahead a little bit instead of trying to do the coach's job.

Thought it would be fun to look at some possible small school guys since they usually come out as the best part of our draft.:ezbill: P.S: Im a huge LSU homer, I dont follow Villanova in any way, shape or form and I have a huge man crush on this guy.

Heres mine: Villanova wideout, Matt Szczur. Said to run a 4.4 sometimes 4.3 40 yard dash. Freakish athlete and a great person, (willing to miss a game to donate bone marrow to a young girl which saved her life). They use him all over the field. If anyone watched them play App St on ESPN you know this guy, they wouldnt stop talking about him. Heres a link: http://www.villanova.com/sports/m-footbl/mtt/szczur_matt00.html

ScZcur is a Danny WoodHead clone IMO.

i think that he and Jaquizz Rogers can make quite a splash as diminutive playmakers.

There are a few 1-AA prospects that will filter up into the 2nd and 3rd rounds, but Pat Devlin, the QB from Delaware, is likely to be the highest drafted small school prospect. Dwayne Harris, WR out of East Carolina (if you want to consider them small school), isn't far behind. Matt Szczur is a solid 4th rd prospect right now... Benjamin Ijalana out of Villanova is right in that mix. Kendrick Ellis, NT out of Hampton is a 4th to 5th rd prospect right now. Cedric Thornton, a DE/DT out of Cent. Arkansas has a shot at the 4th round right now. He could shoot up 3-4 teams draft boards because of his versatility. Davon House is a super fast CB out of New Mexico St that could surprise. Justin Rogers is another super fast CB/RM out of Richmond with great ball skills.

Dwyane Harris, Randall Cobb, Denarius Moore, and Kealoha Pilares will all likely be lethal playmaking rookies next year as well.

Harris had 1000 yard kick return season in 2009 along with 3 TDs and Randall cobb is just flat out wicked. If we can't Nab Broyles early i would really like to improve our return game with either Harris or Cobb. Harris could be the Next Josh Cribbs.

Bruce Miller, DE, UCF

Beast, not sure why hes graded a 7th rounder.
2007-2009 he lead the league in sacks and tackles for loss.

He reminds me of Brooks Reed of Arizona who might also project as a 4-3 SAM outside Linebacker. Nice find.

This guy: Dontay Moch, 4.25 40 time, LB/DE Hybrid, excellent pass rushing potential in a GW "D"[]

if that is his real 40 time, al davis will draft him in this first round. i call B.S., and wanna see him run that at the combine. that is faster then dieon sanders or chris johnson.

He does run a 4.25 or 4.30. However his knocks on him is that once he is one demitional. No pash rush moves other than raw speed, once ingaged hes out of the play. Not strong enough to be stout against the run so really hes just a physcial talent. I hope the saints dont go anywere near him!

Ok, here's one of my sleepers.. Seems like a payton type of guy..

One thing you notice right off the bat with Clay, is how versatile he really is. Asked to line up at fullback, tight end, tailback, and wide receiver, Clay is probably bested suited as a fullback or an off the line Y/H-back tweener at the next level.
..
4.4 speed at 6’3″ 235 pounds
..
does a nice job using his big frame to go up and pluck the football. Exhibits strong hands and runs hard after the catch
..
a willing blocker in the run game, but struggles a bit to get leverage

..
Looks natural in pass protection.
..
I’m projecting Clay as a 6th round draft pick, but he certainly has 4th round talent.

Looked really good against Tulane, seems like a humble hard worker too from what I've been able to see from interviews like the one embedded.

Could maybe play a couple downs a drive, esp. if his pass protection skills pan out..

5+ypc, 12+ypr and a td machine.. Wouldnt mind spending a late round pick..

What the ****?! A 245 pound pass rusher running a 4.25 in the 40?!?!?! Make it happen Loomis! :worthy:

I'm his new #1 fan!

I'm not so sure of this guy. Didn't watch the whole highlight only like a minute and a half but this guy can be blocked with one hand. Yeah, he gets around guys in a quick hurry but if they push him then he's out of the play. The only play I saw him get to the QB was because the guard fell down and he still wasn't able to drag the QB down. Maybe in the later rounds as a project, but I just was not impressed by what I watched.

Edit: Finished watching the whole thing. The only decent play from him was at the end when he ran the RB down. The sack he had was decent, but the QB was just forced back inside and was getting sacked by someone. Even when he chased the QB down they still got a big completion. Then, the worst of it all I saw was the RB just completely take him out of the play.
