With some of the alleged leaks of the new CBA...specifically the mandatory 90%+ salary cap spending. I would LOVE to see us make a splash in Free Agency, particularly in the LB/Safety/OT market.

IMO, we have the potential (remember as much as we love the draft, they are still technically an unknown) to make another legitimate Super Bowl run. Schedule is in our favor, our lock-out prep is #1, Team is strong and apparently healthy...with a couple of high-end pieces brought in from free-agency we are a lock.

Anyone else feel this is a possibility?

Indeed, although im sure cap space wont be at a premium considering all the signing we have to do of our own fa's.

Don't get your hopes up for any big names. We will have our hands full resigning or OWN players.

You both make good points.

I didnt forget about resigning our own big names (Moore/Thomas/Harper?, etc) and ensuring team continuity. Even after the must haves are lined up we still should still have room for one or two good FA's, within the new guidelines. I think the old mandatory spending cap was much lower than the new proposed cap. This is the point I was focusing on in my initial post.

Moore Thomas and Harper are not the problem. Brees, Nicks and Porter are the one that are going to cost a lot of money. Porter and Nicks will have to wait but I think we'll resign Brees this year and if we do, you can forget about any other major FA.
