Potential Huge 2008 EE Threads (1 Viewer)

With the new year coming and our playoffs hopes on life support I am looking forward to some big threads.

1. American Idol Thread - LOL!! I know some of you hate AI and mock those of us that do like the show but its that time of year again and this thread is always fun. I can't wait until the annual show and thread.

2. Lost Thread - One of my favorite shows and threads. Last years episodes were really good and the thread was one of the best with everyones opinions and breakdowns. This one should be a fun one again. How long has it been? Also is the strike going to effect the show?

3. The Wire Thread - Another one of my favorite shows. Top 5 in fact. The thread hasnt been all that spectacular but still entertaining. I know the wire is popular but I cant figure out why this show doesnt get all the acclaim that some of the other shows on HBO got. To me the wire is right up there with the soporanos and six feet under. Its a shame that the show hasnt garnered awards or even been nominated.

If you can think of any more threads that will be big and get everyones juices going please post.

1. Election threads will rule the EE

2. A Bush Legacy thread will pop up in or around November that will be a monster of partisan excellence.

3. When Ron Paul drops out the "Ron Paul Supporter Suicide Watch Thread" will be one for the ages. None of us will rest easy until bclemms let's us know he's still with us.

4. There will be a couple of big ones where people jump on to some issue and scream about all the PC people when nobody except them are claiming racism/sexism or whatever other ism. EE is always good for a few monster threads like that per year.

5. Someone will make some blatantly racist statement and the EE will swing to his support because "hip hop people say worst stuff". We're always good for one or two of them per year.

Mostly we will just have a bunch of giant threads with people in entrenched positions talking at each other often with extremist positions on what are fairly minor issues but will be exaggerated and blown far out of proportion compliments of talking points and rabid partisanship.

Such is life on the EE.

I think the "Found Critters" thread will rise again, the "Drinking Thread" will really boom, and the "Burgers and Fries" thread will become a sounding board for all that is junk food.

i agree about the wire, dont worry about the awards but love the show - i dont like any new shows HBO has out now and the movies they play are no good - after this last season of the Wire i may cancel HBO - bring back Rome and Carnival, deadwood and keep the wire going.
