Predicting the Saints' Final Roster by Mike Detillier (1 Viewer)

Don't worry about the 3rd QB. Teams can keep a 3rd QB and he is protected but does not count against the 53 man roster. Only deal is that if the 3rd one is called up then the number 1 can not play that game.

I'd rather see Brunell > Harrington, Waters > Simoneau, and another Safety squeezed in somehow.

I don't think it works that way. You're getting two rules mixed up. All active players count against the 53 man roster. During a game, if the third QB comes into the game (aka the emergency QB) the starting QB is no longer eligibile to re-enter the game.

I Don't see Jason Davis being cut

atleast not for Leigh Torrence.. Mike D. says Torrence's special teams play gives him the edge but JD looked stout on STs last season.. not to mention like retthib said, i've been hearing JDs name being called for making plays far more than i have Torrence

How is that any different from any other JD training camp? The guy looks like a world beater in practice every year. How many times will we be fooled by that?

Brunell is less likely to get picked up after being cut then Harrington however.

If the-possibility-that-shall-remain-nameless were to occur, then the best chance of getting both Harrington and Brunell back on the roster is to keep Brunell off it.

Brunell is highly unlikely to sign with another team and would remain a phone call away.

david was really good last season.... hate to be captain obvious....

How long will you hold on to a 2 year old opinion without honestly watching games?
How many times are you going to follow my opinion with your opinion and expect me to roll over and agree with you?

Jason David is a detriment to our defense. He keeps his eyes in the backfield, he jumps routes (wah wah thats the safeties fault - shouldn't JD be aware of that and stop playing so loose?), he plays soft which allows his man to get behind him (wah wah thats the safeties fault - shouldn't JD be aware of that and stop playing so soft?) and while he did have a nice game against Green Bay, statistically, he still gave up stupid plays.

What exactly has JD done to make you stick up for him so much? I mean, besides have a statistical season in which he was less effective than a hole in zone coverage?
