Props to Klint Kubiak’s playcalling (1 Viewer)

Pete Carmichael and to a lesser degree Kubiak, need to understand that Taysom is the ultimate weapon for a struggling offense. He keeps defenses honest. Therefore, if we are struggling to pass protect, throw him behind center and bludgeon the defense. If we're having trouble running the ball, put him behind center and watch how timid the DL becomes. I could never figure out why Carmichael would allow the offense to struggle long stretches without using him.

Absolutely crazy to me how this fanbase refuses to give this man credit.

The entire gameday forum was filled with people calling for Klints head. As if he wasn't missing his entire iOL, QB, WR1-3, and TH7 the past few weeks.

Heck he's still without a decent receiver but he's making it work the best he can.
yup!

It was ridiculous!

He was solid today

Still not a huge fan of the way he uses AK sometimes but I can’t argue with 35 points with bottom of the barrel WRs plus MVS.

TEs were good today,Juwan and Moreau have quietly had decent seasons between them.
I knew when Juwan made that great twisting jump catch that he was all bought in on the Rizz. He didn’t play with that kind of effort under the other guy

It’s almost like he was being held back by some mysterious force that magically went away two weeks ago!

I honestly never thought DA was a bad enough coach to hold back his OC and tell him what to call, but it appears that likely was the case. Kubiak has gotten a lot more aggressive since DA left. Not sure if it's just DA leaving or if part of it is getting most of his OL back and signing MVS. But whatever it is, he's been much better the last two weeks.

The low point for me was the game he called for Rattler against the Chargers. It was just ultra conservative but maybe DA told him to call it that way. I'm still not sure that he has a real answer for the blitz since Atlanta did it well and Cleveland inexplicably didn't seem to blitz us a lot, but that could be about lack of personnel more than him not having a blitz counter in his bag.

We really need to find him another Tayson Hill very soon.

Someone mentioned there's someone similar to him in the draft. I can't remember his name or the thread it was in.

Unfortunately, I don't think there are any other Taysom Hills. At least not a guy that can throw some, is a great power runner, has great speed, can play as a very good power HB, block like a FB, and run routes and catch well enough to play TE.

Still there are some guys out there that can play multiple positions and do some of what he does. For instance, Penn State TE, Tyler Warren. Doesn't have Hill's speed and probably not a Wildcat guy but can do a lot of things.

The closest equivalent to Hill is probably Jalen Milroe, but he's likely going to go high in the draft so it would be hard to take him unless you think he's really going to be a QB. And even with Miloroe he has the speed and power Taysom has as a Wildcat QB and Read Option QB, but nobody knows if he can catch or block like Hill.

The motion is back in the offense after a brief hiatus.

Kubiak gets a passing grade for the year from me. When all the key players are healthy and rollin', he's been fire on the play calling.

Fair assessment in blitz situations, though. Brings up a fair question, I think.....what players do we have who can stay back and "chip" on a blitz if Taysom has to run a pass route?
