PS 4 Getting a $50 Price Cut (2 Viewers)

Because I really liked RPG's growing up? Like, a huge portion of the gaming community did at the time.

The kid is about 8 years younger than you, he 'Caught them all'. Don't let his attitude for the classics fool you.

The classics?

Don't talk to me about classics 'kid'.

Final Fantasy was classic crap. Stop-action combat system? Please... that **** went out with tabletop games.

...you want time to think between sequences of events? Go play battleship.

Correct. The Classics.

Sure... if you want to classically wipe your *** with something, go for a FF game guide.

I can't think of a better use.

...I bought FF7 or X, or some such trash at the urging of a friend.
I traded it in within a day.

I do like RPGs, I grew up on Zork, I mudded for years with Toril & Sojourn that were the *literal* predecessors to Everquest through to WoW.

We *typed* live action combat commands. Real time.

Stop-action combat is a boil on the *** of gaming.

Game guide? Pfft. If you get stuck, you call Nintendo directly and ask for a hint.

Well, the SNES ones were the "classics" to me. But, when Squaresoft decided to use CD's with Sony, it ended my relationship with Nintendo.

Got stuck? Hints?

Does not compute.

Nintendo had a 1800 number to call if you got stuck in a game and couldn't figure out what to do next. I called it once but I can't recall the game I asked about.

nintendo power made sure that everyone knew about the 1-800 number to call a "game counselor"
