Why draft Rattler if Jake was part of the plan after a year with the team

Need to play the qb you feel has a better chance to be a starter long term , that player needs the reps in the real season not just preseason especially when no one is expecting you to do much as qb play isn’t the primary issue other than the lack of mobility
