Saints QB Drew Lock? (1 Viewer)

So little? The OP's proposal would be a swap of a late 1st for a top 10 first and 2nd plus a possible QB in return for a very good DB that could possibly be replaced with the early 2nd pick and would be cheaper cap wise.
Yes. It would be a trade for Drew Lock for MARSHON LATTIMORE. That can't be stressed enough. CBs like him don't grow on trees. You can't just hedge your bets on a rookie. We may have gotten complacent as a fanbase and don't realize exactly how good he is and how important he is to our defense. Also, again, it cannot be stressed enough, it would be for Drew....Lock....I mean, let's be real here.

No, It would be for Lock, a mid 1st round pick, and cap space. Some here seem to think Lattimore is a first ballot HOF. He is not that!

He's better than, Corey White, Brandon Browner, PJ Williams, and Ken Crawleys of the world for now.

Literally no one is saying that. His presense here has transformed our secondary fundamentally. A cap hit of $10 mil for a CB of his caliber is well worth it. Bad franchises make trades like that, not ours.

So what if we can't re-sign or extend Lattimore because of our salary cap after this season and he leaves anyway? Moving up from pick #28 to #9, getting a 2nd round pick and a QB would be much better than the hopeful conditional 3rd round pick we'd get later on.

He is an SEC all-time leading passer.

He has some talent. Enough to trade a 4th rounder for if Teddy fetches a 3rd.

Not more talent than Winston.

PFF ranked him 31st in the league last year.

I'd rather roll with trying to resign Jameis Winston.

I think he's itching to prove a lot of naysayers wrong in 2021.

You can see what Denver is thinking in trying to trade him, hoping that a guy Like Lance might be available at their pick.

They also feel like he had a good enough running game to succeed and wrs/TEs.

The only factors that might warrant more consideration Is that his online graded out poorly.

25. DENVER BRONCOS
Garett Bolles’ ascent to grading out as one of the best tackles in the NFL came as one of the bigger surprises when looking at offensive line play this season. It’s hard to think that a reduction in holding penalties being called across the NFL didn’t play some role in his breakout, but it was an impressive season for the fourth-year man out of Utah nonetheless — a season that earned him a fresh, four-year contract extension with the team.

Unfortunately for Denver, other pieces along the line didn’t come close to meeting Bolles’ level of play. Rookie center Lloyd Cushenberry got off on the wrong foot with 15 pressures allowed in his first four NFL games and ended the year as PFF’s lowest-graded center among qualifiers. Elijah Wilkinson produced just a 52.4 grade at the right tackle position in the second consecutive season that the Broncos missed right tackle Ja’Wuan James, as well.

James’ expected return in 2021, along with some improvement from young players like Cushenberry and Dalton Risner on the interior, should lead to a better effort from the line next season

And that their scoring defense was 24th.

The only way we would be moving up that high is to take a QB. We wouldn’t need Locke in that case to add to the deal.

The Broncos reportedly offered the #9 overall pick, a 3rd round pick, and QB Drew Lock to the Lions in exchange for QB Matthew Stafford. The Lions ultimately decided to take the Rams offer instead, but it is clear that the Broncos are open to dealing this young signal caller...
Lock has a huge arm and a great deal of untapped potential as a young QB. He also hasn’t exactly been “coached up” during his time in Denver (or at Mizzou for that matter).

The Broncos have also been mentioned as a team that would be highly interested in a high-end boundary CB, and Denver would love to get their hands on Marshon Lattimore... Lattimore is entering his 5th year option season in 2021, and will be a FA following next season. If the Saints feel that Lattimore will be too difficult or expensive to sign to a long term contract, he could be dangled in an offer to the Broncos.

What would you think if the Saints were to pull a trade with the Broncos to something in the tune of...

Broncos get: Marshon Lattimore and the Saints 2021 1st round pick (#28)

Saints get: Broncos 1st round pick (#9 overall), Broncos 2nd round pick, and QB Drew Lock.

Thoughts on Lock?
