Question: Are the Saints closer to a Super Bowl or a total rebuild? (1 Viewer)

neither, we are stuck in limbo right now. Not good enough to contend, don't suck enough to rebuild... so we kick and we kick and we kick... we just keep doing what we are doing....

I'm thinking, coaching rebuild. While this group can teach and scheme, in-game adjustments are woefully lacking.

Were it not for the lack of ability to adapt to an opponent's unexpected game plan, I'd say this team reminds me of 2018. Not the best, but good enough to compete at a high level.

Blow it up, starting with Loo stepping down

It's scary to think about re-builds with the current ownership/front office in place that will "re-build" coupled with having Dennis Allen still in place if & when they even attempt the undertaking. This is a franchise that has been and will be declining in the landscape of the NFL.. Another run at being the bottom feeders we've all been exposed to through the years.

We aren’t going to do a total rebuild. We’re going to do this until we strike gold with a great draft class and then we’ll be contenders. The NFC is weak this year though. If healthy we have a shot to get there.

If McCoy and Ruiz hadn't gotten hurt, and Taysom, and now Carr... we'd likely be 4-1 or 5-0.
So is that a total rebuild?
Are we factoring in injuries?

They have some young talent - but they have a lot of old guys too. So it feels more like they need to trade anyone of high to moderate value with high to moderate salaries and focus on drafting some more help in the trenches.

Factor in injuries eh? That sounds like a coaches and GMs job to me. Can't sing this song every single year and expect fans to hum a long.

Players get injured. Good organisations adapt and have a plan in place. Our starting offensive line was bandaided in place and couldn't sustain a single injury. That is a Loomis and DA issue. There were no good guards or centers added to this roster the past 3 years and they let Peat leave.

Furthermore, no one is injured on the DL what is their excuse? I'm going to go with just slow and weak.

It's a rebuild.
