I am quite certain that everyone here can give an example of a questionable call. And that particular example could not have been reviewed and overturned, although it briefly adjusted the rules due to the obscenity of how blatant it was. It seems this year is somewhat different from others in that there are questionable calls caught on camera that could be overturned.

Case in point from yesterday's Vikings Bears Game and was he Out of Bounds?

Last year's Chiefs Packers with Mahomes inbounds and as a runner with 1:05 remains seems like a layup for instant replay.

I do not describe to the conspiracy theory that the NFL is rigged to the point that a cabal of NFL owners and Goodell plot out the eventual Superbowl winner wearing robes and swooning in a cloud of incense.

I am now wondering if it could be influenced by a few micro adjustments to the desired outcome. More of a nudge in the direction of probability.

What would be the impetus? I think I would look to potential downstream matchups that have higher TV rating probabilities and the associated advertising revenue.

Does the board believe this to be a possibility? Or is my tin foil too tight?

What say you?

We now have horrendous officiating combined with a league office that doesn’t care about getting calls correct. We have the technology that has been available for years to help get the calls right, but the league seems completely uninterested in using it. It’s shameful and fixable.

As with MLB and Umpire calls of balls and strikes, it appears NFL officials and their flagrantly and unimaginable bad calls are untouchable~! WHY? Maybe for the delay of the games? Maybe to keep the umpires and refs jobs relevant? I don't know, however, IF The League and Owners and Comm. wanted to have a real and honestly played game? Everything within question should be reviewable~! When the entire World can see the poor or muffed judgement? Time to change with the times or AI will do it for everyone~!'Nuff SAID~!

Sky cam is there so that when something happens to cause a major loss for Draft Kings, they can Buffalo Wild Wing it up and "fix it" without needing a challenge... the fact that it only happens "some of the time" and not every single time is SUS.

If the league cared about the integrity of the game, they would make EVERY penalty reviewable, especially the ones that turn a game. NHL already does it and soccer leagues have VAR.

The truth is they don't care, they want their biggest money-making teams to win, like they did with Brady all those years and are now doing with Mahomes. Look how many times they called Holding on KC throughout the last 2 seasons during the playoffs and Super Bowls. (ZERO, that's how many. At least for the SB games)
Just look at the last SB game, they were allowing hand-fighting and grabs here and there the entire game. Then in the FINAL seconds they throw some bullshirt flag against the 49ers to set up their game-winning FG. Absolutely rigged.

Like that absolute JOKE of the "reviewable PI" calls they tried a few years ago. The refs' (and NFL's) ego are too big to overturn a mistake they made. Even an OBVIOUS blatant call, they would review it and show it on the big screen repeatedly, then come back and say "No we didn't make a mistake, no penalty on the play" to a crowd of boos and cussing, and go about the game.

The NFL knew that was a sham so they got rid of it.

You guys do know that stats take about two seconds to google.

Most offensive holding penalties in 2024.

1. Baltimore 24
2. Kansas City 22
10. New Orleans 17
32. Jax 3

The NFL has got a huge problem here. I have yet to talk to anyone about the season who did not say the refs were ruining things for them. The perception is that sometimes the video is used and sometimes it isn't and it is very random. Not being used on penalties is quite annoying.

I waffle on this. The amount of coordination it would take to actually have a campaign of influence over NFL games would be hard to keep quiet for this long. SOMEONE would talk...even if by accident..

It's way more plausible that it's just gross incompetence with zero desire from the top to change anything. The NFL is a giant money maker and they don't want to jeopardize that.

That's what logic tells me. Then I watch a few games and see the refs basically give the game to one team or the other and I have to start wondering if it's fixed. It HAS to be fixed, right? Like....the officiating cannot be this consistently bad without some kind of influence from the top? If it's just incompetence then it is truly impressive how bad they are at their jobs.

What gets me, is when the refs make a bad call, or a no-call where the video clearly shows a ref or two seeing the penalty, it just happens to always due justice to Vegas covering spreads. That's a big tell to me.

Then you have certain scenarios that really makes you wonder. Think back to the 2017 NFC no-call. The Rams got favorable calls all season, they bombed the super bowl, then the following year they get favorable calls/no-calls consistently again, win the super bowl and now their average for favorable calls/no-calls seems average to other teams. For clarity, be favorable, I'm referring to no-calls that clearly should have been called, or calls that were questionable which assisted them in winning.

People claim the same thing is happening to the Chiefs now, but I don't see it as much as I did back then. It was way more obvious in 2017-2018. There are some moments that make me wonder, but it seems a bit more discreet then what I've seen in the past. Mainly because I've seen no-calls happen and if the call had happened, it would've put the chiefs in more favorable position to win. That's not how the Ram's games went in 2017 and 2018. There weren't any no-calls that could've been called to help propel the Rams into favorable odds.

For upmost clarity. I don't think the NFL is scripted. I don't think coaches, players or GM's have anything at all to do with intentionally losing or anything along that nature.

But after that Rams season NFC no-call, and the following season where they won a super bowl, it became obvious to me that the refs will make a call or no-call for that matter to assist a team into favorable odds to cover the Vegas the spread or propel a specific teams season.
