NFL Questionable calls caught on camera. (3 Viewers)

I think everyone who believes it's rigged is nuts. Game goes way too fast with too many moving parts, refs are going to miss calls. But I also understand your right to believe whatever you want.

We now have horrendous officiating combined with a league office that doesn’t care about getting calls correct. We have the technology that has been available for years to help get the calls right, but the league seems completely uninterested in using it. It’s shameful and fixable.
they seem plenty interested in using it....to levy fines on players that the refs missed/didn't call during the game. That one still escapes me....wasn't a penalty during the game, which may have affected the outcome; but it's a penalty afterwards, when it generates revenue. I agree on the shameful and fixable part. The league seems to be obstinately and willfully ignorant.

It doesn't have to be completely rigged to have the outcomes influenced, you need a good QB like Brady or Mahomes and a good all around team. I don't believe it's completely rigged, but very much influenced. Andy Reid couldn't get it done with his old QB, can't remember his name now, but with Mahomes it's all going his way and isn't going to change even though the rules do each year in favour of the athletic QBs. I don't follow the NFL much anymore, but I do occasionally see highlights where Mahomes seems to have a chance to win the game in the end every week. Then when he makes the playoffs his chances go way up. The rules are subjective, wheres theres subjectivity, there is opportunity for swaying outcomes.

I waffle on this. The amount of coordination it would take to actually have a campaign of influence over NFL games would be hard to keep quiet for this long. SOMEONE would talk...even if by accident..

It's way more plausible that it's just gross incompetence with zero desire from the top to change anything. The NFL is a giant money maker and they don't want to jeopardize that.

That's what logic tells me. Then I watch a few games and see the refs basically give the game to one team or the other and I have to start wondering if it's fixed. It HAS to be fixed, right? Like....the officiating cannot be this consistently bad without some kind of influence from the top? If it's just incompetence then it is truly impressive how bad they are at their jobs.
Officials will make mistakes. They are human. The problem is the NFL has the technology to correct
those mistakes, but doesn't use it properly

What is the reason? Who would benefit from swaying games? Who is swaying it? Is it Godell? Is it a couple of owners? Are the players in on it? Are the refs?

If it's for money, no one would risk the amount of money the NFL makes to rig/sway games. Could it be on a micro level? Sure, 1 ref or 1 player acting with someone on the gambling-side. No problem with that. Outside of that, no way the amount of scrutiny the NFL is under and the amount of people that would be involved would be able to keep it quiet.

If it's to sway games to more popular teams. Dallas Cowboys, enough said. No reason to sway games. Parity is what they seek and 32 teams with a chance every season is what they want and collectively brings the most value to the league.

Yeah but look at all the bad calls! Game is too subjective and too fast and too reliant on human beings that make mistakes. NFL doesn't have any incentive to fix it btw. Controversial calls engender a deeper connection to your team. If you live/die with your team and feel like the world is against us, well that just means your going to yell about it louder which increases the global footprint of the NFL.

I could go on but some random reddit guy: "
It's ridiculous and impossible. The sheer number of people who would have to be involved that wouldn't say a word, the owners of other teams all acting in concert, and the fact that they would all be risking real jail time for what would amount for a few million for each owner over just letting things play out the way they would have anyways.

But we are at a time now where everyone can say whatever they want without having having to explain themselves or answer any questions. So they can echo chamber these conspiracy theories without the slightest scrutiny."

Great post.

Why would the NFL rig games for the Chiefs? They're one of the smallest media markets in the league.
Kc wins because Mahommes is a great Qb and their defense is 5th in the league.

There was a Monday night game years ago with either the Bears and/or the Packers where from what I recall, at the end of the game they tried a QB sneak on the goal line that looked to be good. Refs said no good although replay appeared to show he crossed the goal. End of game. It most definitely determined the outcome of that game and at the time I remember saying...this is a perfect example of how you can nudge a team in one direction or the other.

The against is part of the story pairing it with the for tells a little more. Deletes a pick, third down bailout. Pi in the final two min aka field goal range. Wipes out first down. So much more to a penalty than just a penalty. The big so why watch question is supposed to be the Mic drop,it isn't.

I find college games officiated much better than the NFL.
