RB Jamaal Williams released (1.59m savings) (99 Viewers)

I liked the signing of Williams two years ago, thinking he would have a solid impact however, these two years of his have been very forgettable. Easy cut.

The cap savings is certainly a big part of these moves but what gets me a little more excited is some necessary roster turnover that often comes with a new regime. I say, bring on the changes.
Curious to see what the new offensive regime/HC thinks of Kendre.

We went through 2 coordinators with Williams. Even with injuries, the coordinators didn't care for him. The biggest waste of money in the Allen Era.

I'd put Marcus Maye slightly above Williams in the Allen era, only because Maye cost more and was expected to be a primary piece as opposed to a complimentary piece. But Williams certainly didn't give the team much on the field unfortunately.

Good luck to the guy. After a dreadful start to his time here, he showed some glimpses last year once he was put into a better system.

Hope his next stop is more successful.

I think Maye contributed more than Williams—but who cares at this point? Neither was a difference maker. At least there’s some minor cap savings.

Wish him well but very glad he’s gone. 1 yard and a cloud of dust, rinse repeat. He’s proof that a mauling o line can be very helpful to a running back. (Detroit)

Madden quote always comes to mind about Williams;
“If you need a yard he’ll get you a yard.”

“If you need two yards he’ll get you a yard.”
😂

Fun and funny dude but terrible running back.

its crazy he was one of the best RB before signing with us. that should tell us a lot about the old coaching staff.

Was never a fan of the signing. Didn't look good in Detroit behind a top 2 OL no surprise he didn't look good here.

The year before we signed him he lead the league in rushing TDs and had more in a single season in Detroit than Barry Sanders. So when you mean he didn’t look good in Detroit……

Yeah that's stat watching. He got a bunch of goal line carries but that doesn't mean much. There was a reason the Lions didn't offer him anything. They wanted an upgrade.

Watching his film it was the OL that dominated and not Jamaal.

Which again goes back to the whole

Elite OLine meh RB >>>> Elite RB meh OLine
