RB Kendre Miller to begin season on IR (1 Viewer)

Did we see the talent? He only had one good game and that was the apology game last year. Before that, I thought he sucked.

You thought he sucked b/c he was drafted injured and took awhile to finally see the field?

To reference a comment you made above, I'm glad you are the GM of any team, let alone the Saints.

I didn't even come close to saying that. I don't know how you got that from what I said.

Miller has one notable injury before he was drafted, the grade 2 MCL Sprain in his knee in the 2022 CFB semi final.

That's an injury, not a continuing pattern of injuries.

The medical team on each NFL club obviously has to make recommendations about ability to rehab existing injury and propensity for future injury, and the Saints clearly thought rehabbing a grade 2 sprain was minor enough to take him in the third.
I don't think Miller fit the description of an 'oft injured' player when drafted...

Saw this while watching an unrelated Saints vid.

It’s old and I can’t stand that term “claps back”, yes I’m an old man yelling at the sky. 😂

You know what term gets me? People who have no role on the football team using the term 'I need to see ..'

They don't need to see anything, because what they see has absolutely no input, impact or effect on Miller and his future on this team. None whatsoever.

Not seeing what they want to see (the correct term > 'need' BTW) won't decide anything, except to risk changing their opinion. Which in itself is unlikely, as they're already too busy mashing the 'shoulda drafted Tyjae' button on repeat.

Fans and social media commentators:- stay in your lane.

If he was handling his business, there wouldn’t be any reason to clap back. Dude has a golden opportunity and is wasting it. Many teams have implemented a great RB by committee and have their guys. Miller could’ve easily been our #2 if he did what he was supposed to do. Churlish-ness

People are upset about his availability so they are trying to convince themselves he was a wasted pick.
Availability is a talent in the NFL. If Miller can’t find a way to make himself available for most of the season, he will become a wasted pick. Let’s hope he figures out how to take better care of his body and also has some luck to avoid the kinds of nagging injuries that made him unavailable most of last season and so far this season.

Exactly. Whether the injury is something the player can avoid with conditioning or not, if a player is never available how in the world would that not be considered a wasted pick?

Either way I loved the pick and love the player, think he can be a good one if he can get right. Still hopeful.

Plenty of available players NOT on an NFL roster.

I thought I caught a glimpse of another old fellow yelling at the sky as I was. 😂

I agree with ya.

Apparently, the coaches see something in him or he wouldn't be filling a valuable roster spot.

All I know about him is, he's a high-energy big body that can run, run people over, catch, and even run patterns downfield. I remember seeing him make a nice catch on a sideline pass 20 yds downfield, and it made me think he has a great future here.

Injuries suck, but injured players don't. Some of us need to learn the difference.

The key is whether the player is active on game day. Miller has flashed, and I haven’t given up hope on him, but let’s not pretend he hasn’t been a disappointment so far.

He's out this week and the next 2 per IR rule. If he can get himself healthy He could be a big part of the Saints rushing attack.

Injuries happen. The narrative here is that he was out of shape coming into training camp which caused the Hamstring injury but it somehow wasn't a problem in OTAs.

And why doesn't the same reasoning apply to Lattimore with his Hamstring since it is reoccurring along with the many other ailments that have plagued him causing him to miss half of the games the past 2 years?

The jury is still out on Kendre Miller as to whether or not injuries will continue to be a problem. Last year was pretty much expected to be a redshirt year. Let's give this year a chance to unfold before we determine if the kid was a wasted pick or not.
