Frustrated after four years of the Saints' futility and sensing New Orleans would draft Ole Miss star Archie Manning with the second overall pick of the 1971 NFL Draft, Kilmer asked to be traded and was granted his wish on January 23, 1971, when he was dealt to the Washington Redskins for linebacker Tom Roussel and two draft selections.
Guy thinks he’s immortal and doesn’t want his pride hurt by drafting a threatening young QB to sit a couple years.
Shame on the Vikings and Falcons for wanting to prepare their franchise for the future while their 36 y/o QB is recovering from an Achilles injury
This should be a lesson to the leadership. Players matter, you need to check with them. The Saints had the werewithall to let Drew know when they were going to draft Mahomes.
I confused to why he is so worried its his job to lose. Like if you play well you keep starting you play bad you dont get to start, feel like he should focus on what he can control and not what he cant. Also feel like this gives ATL something they need hope. IF cousins get hurt or has those string of games where he off atleast the front office have a backup plan to keep fans in the seats. No one trying see Taylor Heineke as a fan.Guy thinks he’s immortal and doesn’t want his pride hurt by drafting a threatening young QB to sit a couple years.

you rightThey don't have fans to keep in the seats.
But, nobody wants to have their heir apparent breathing down their neck. Especially at QB where you need to be the unquestioned leader. That has now been undermined by his own team. You can do it when you have a Favre, Brees, Brady, who are the unquestioned leaders of the team, but not with a guy like cousins who is not elite or a HoF QB. And especially not a Cousins type who just signed with the team and hasn't even had an opportunity to establish that leadership role. You also shouldn't do that when you have guaranteed him $100 million.
He seemed like a jerk and would ignore his coach on that Netflix doc. Everytime whenever the coach would tell him something he would disrespect him cutting him off and saying "yeah yeah yeah".Guy thinks he’s immortal and doesn’t want his pride hurt by drafting a threatening young QB to sit a couple years.

Did they? Or did they alert Drew to the fact, when he walked in the war room during the draft, a few selections before we were to pick, and then he was alerted to the fact that his successor may be picked? This should be a lesson to the leadership. Players matter, you need to check with them. The Saints had the werewithall to let Drew know when they were going to draft Mahomes.
