The Eberflus, Pierces, annd Allen’s are the norm in HC carousels. It’s common for a team to hire a guy they’ll be moving on from in 2-3 years.

Meanwhile coaches like Tomlin and Payton are rare air and Rizzi has a long way to go to have a chance at that status, but he can separate himself from the bottom rung by not making costly coaching mistakes and beating a team thats favored to defeat us.

Rizzing McVay would be a signature win, the type that seems to escape those inevitable 2-3 and done hires.

You have to keep in mind what Rizzi was left to work with, and that the Rams aren't all of that. I don't think beating a 5-6 team could be a signature win, but I don't think losing to a Rams +2.5 team would be an indictment on Rizzi either.

But now, he’ll be getting wins against coaches like McVay.
That counts for something.

We're putting to much on Rizzi with these hyperbolic post.

It didn't do much for Matt Eberflus.
The Rams are 5-6, just 1 win better than the 4-7 Saints. And McVay, rapid rise (with a little help from his striped friends), won SB, but the last 3 seasons, not exactly the Bill Belichick of the NFC.

Agreed, I'm not even as worried about wins as I am how the team plays (because, realistically I think 2-7 is too big a hole to get out of)....If they are playing hard at the end of the season with nothing on the line, he deserves consideration.....IMO

That said I hope they run the table and a win against the Rams would be extra awesome....we will see....

I'm not sure if he's our future head coach, look at the raiders and Pierce, he galvanized the team after a head coach firing so they hired him full time and it's gotten worse.

We have to get it right this time and really find a guy outside of this building with a ability to lead men.
