team still has a LOT of work to do -more than likely we can't get enough substantive change to become the competitive team we all want
Not really sure how much a new coach can help - especially since we can't afford a difference maker at QB
Keep Rizzi - he'll keep the team fighting past their talent level
really doesn't matter if we keep Carr or not
But it sure makes sense to see if Rattler can keep improving

the job of the offseason should be to shore up both lines
none of the rest matters too much if we don't have good lines with solid depth

If Rattler shows something in the next few weeks it may be enough to cut bait with Carr and hope your strike holds. You save the money and help to rebuild the roster on an unspoken wasted year while seeing if you can develop the QB into something for the future. If he doesn't show something in the coming weeks you may be forced to run it back with Carr and or draft a QB high.

Rizzi had the team beating one division rival that isn't much better than us, 2 bad teams and losing to 2 good teams. We're likely only going to beat the Raiders going forward and end the season at 6-11. What exactly has he done different than DA other than optics and rah rah speeches to deserve to run it back with him next year? The team has been pretty awful lately and not much has really changed to be honest.

Carr isn't going anywhere in 2025 and he'll start if healthy unless Rattler completely smokes him in training camp next year. I completely agree on your point about both of the lines though. Nothing changes without improvement there.

Im
Not saying Rizzi is a great coach (not saying he’s a bad one either
Im saying that it makes more sense to do more remediation (bios the trenches) and wait a year to really look for a HC
I'd rather the new coach evaluate the current roster with the idea of revamping it the following year the way they want to. What you're suggesting would put them back a year for no reason at all.

I’ve explained the reason why

Save money by ditching Carr? No other team is going to trade for him and eat what the Saints owe him. Sorry, and this comes from a Carr supporter who admittedly thinks Rattler looks like he has potential to be the future … But that won’t be next year because of dead money. The Saints can’t afford it next year … … Now 2026, that could get interesting

We need to continue to build through the draft and slowly cut dead weight. While holding competition for many positions. Cam Jordan may be done, we will probably need a Demario Davis and Tyrann Matheu replacement soon. Nonetheless, dline, WR, Oline, and LB are my priorities in the draft.
