Fields himself had said something along the lines of wishing he'd played better in order to keep the job. I personally don't think that the Steelers have enough WR talent, but we'll see how a rusty Wilson does.

I don't have a dog, but Wilson never had the chance to show anything during live action, and no one believes that Fields was actually the expected starter coming out of camp.
