Sad news…Ed Daniels has passed away (1 Viewer)

Never met Ed, but his on air demeanor was that of a good, kind man. The many rememberances of Ed prove as much. Rest well sir.

When I was working for the Gamblers, Ed came up to the press box and chatted with me. We saw each other at St Philip, and I ran a fantasy hockey league, and Ed joined and was in for two years. He got too busy, and had to drop out, but I remember him loving the Blues. "
When he walked into my house for the draft, everyone was like "Ed Daniels is a hockey fan?"

Rest in peace legend. I'll offer my mass tomorrow for you.

He actually had gotten transferred from the LA hospital to the New Orleans hospital.

Ed was such a nice man. The first season I obtained media credentials, I remember him walking up to me at Training camp and saying, "Hi, Andrus, I'm Ed." I was shocked that he knew who I was. We talked a bit. He was such a personable fellow and, in my mind, along with Jim Henderson, the fabric of New Orleans sports media.

As the day went on, others in the media came over and introduced themselves. I was like, what is going on here? How do they know who I am?

Then I realized I was wearing a Saints Report Staff Polo shirt with "Andrus" stitched on it.

The shirt is funny. Ed was a real down to earth guy, who REALLY was into sports if you talked to him

Awful to hear this.

So many kind words, thoughts & stories. You can tell he was such a genuinely kind and caring man.
