I’m going off the words of people in the league, not what a poster on a message board thinks. I also know that Daniel Jones and their offense had a strong 2022 with NYG, prompting Brian Daboll to think he should run it from there, which has shown to be a mistake. With that in mind, I’d further argue that getting Kafka out of that talent-poor madhouse would be best for him.

Or you could continue to lazily point at the 2024 results and not allow space for a single other factor.

Again, it’s not 2024 results. The team he went to in 2022 progressively got worse - the team he left in 2022 has won the Super Bowl every year since he left.. You can go off what people say about him, I’ll go off of what he’s actually done at his job..

Honestly, most, if not all coaches are on bad teams on occasion. Doesn't mean that they aren't good or even great coaches. Especially if they weren't the HC of that failed team.

As “bad” as it seemed, Joe Brady’s 2020 offense with Carolina averaged 349.50 per game - which is the highest YPG Carolina has had since Cam Newton was their QB.

It’s almost like you post things then forget what you say, which is why I use the quote feature… They were only the worst offense in 2024, which is 1) a one-year assessment of a guy 2) who didn’t call plays in 2024.

The talent-poor Giants had a decent offense in 2022 under Kafka’s playcalling and it all went to crap when Daboll took it over. And you’re still insisting it’s Kafka’s fault. And he’s still a top-3 inner circle guy (Reid, Bieniemy, then Kafka) who helped develop the league’s best quarterback from 2018-2021.

And Kafka was the OC that got the Giants to the playoffs with Daniel Jones as his QB. I don't know that Kafka is the right guy, but he's certainly worth talking to and probably as worth talking to as Brady is. If for no other reason Kafka was actually on NFL teams for 5 years and has more years of experience as an NFL coach than Brady.

Appears that way. Very odd that we did not get those done much earlier so that we would have more flexibility if we had to act quickly on a coaching candidate.

Could be that they always planned to interview Brady and Moore, who can't be interviewed until next week, so this week made sense to interview Kafka and Weaver. Or they are really interested in Kafka and Weaver as serious candidates?

I think that the Saints are only interviewing people that they would hire. The first step of the hiring process is to narrow down the pool of available candidates to just the people you would actually hire. Then you start scheduling the interviews.

Even with the Rooney Rule, I don't think the Saints would fly someone in for an interview that they aren't seriously open to hiring.

I tend to agree. I guess I always assume they have a favorite, but maybe they don't since it's not just one guy doing the interviews. I honestly hope they don't have a favorite and that they go into every interview giving the guy an equal chance to get the job. Just because you don't like the stats or the resume as much as others doesn't mean they aren't the right choice for this specific situation. And maybe that is what they are doing since it's a 5 or 6 person group doing the interviews. Each of them probably has different guys that they would probably like, but with that many reviewing each candidate hopefully each guy will get a fair shot.

Of course, in the end, it's going to be Loomis making the decision, but hopefully he has an open mind going into each interview and will listen to the other guys doing the interviews.

You have a valid point. But I suggest deep diving into successful programs first, especially if the coach has been on a team for a few good years.
