Saints at the top of Davante Adams’ wish list [Raiders trade Adams to Jets for conditional 3rd ; Jets paying Adams’ entire remaining salary]

I get that and it's a good point but the drop off a cliff for production for the vast majority of WR's is 32-33 (those that even get that far).....so unless they can get him on an extremely cheap contract (and I don't think they will, there seems to be always some team willing to overpay aging vets) it's an unnecessary risk to me.....we will see what happens....
Adams game is not a speed game it's a route running and contested catch game. The 1st thing to go on a WR with age is speed. I think he has at least 2 more yrs at a high level. 2 yrs @ 18mil 15 guaranteed

Unfortunately, I wouldn’t hope for any big signings or trades.

Three teams are over the cap for next year, but we take the cake… again. At what point do we rebuild?

I know Loomis will restructure and kick the bucket down the street (once again)… but this should show how bad our cap situation is:

2025 Teams Over the Cap

Seahawks($5,997,972)
Browns($13,006,070)
Saints($62,801,756)

Saints were 75M over the cap before they signed Carr to a 37.5M per year deal in 2022.

Salary cap doesn’t stop the Saints from signing the players that they want.
