ATLANTA — With New Orleans’ three losses in its previous four games, which turned a 5-1 start into a 6-4 record, some people might have been starting to doubt the Saints as a playoff contender.
But the Saints knew there was no reason to start hanging their heads after back-to-back, error-filled losses. It was definitely no time to do it with the Atlanta Falcons, who’d lost three games in a row, awaiting them Sunday.
“Some people thought the magic had run out on both teams,” Saints running back Deuce McAllister said. “We knew we had to get a ‘W,’ but I don’t think that we were desperate yet as far as the team was concerned.”
