Speaking of…saw this while scrolling twitter just now.
I don’t recognize the middle player.
I wonder who got the last spot on this - Eli Apple or Brandon Browner

It's not akin to using one CC to pay off another because there's NEVER interest charges and your limit goes up every yr. And by signing a player to a contract @ this yrs prices you save because salaries are always going upPeople don't agree with the philosophy when you're not a contender. We all know that Mick does this, but stretching the limits as a non-contender is shortsighted. Also, the restructuring concept is akin to using one credit card to pay off another because you still owe the player money.
I know this because we've discussed Mick's philosophy in several threads. If Drew was behind center and we were a legit title contender, this would not be a discussion, but we need to reset/rebuild strategically, and from the outside, that does not seem like what's occurring.
For record, this is not about McCoy. Prior to Ram's injury, they looked like great picks.
I agree. Loomis will get the team back under the cap but at what cost? More extensions with voidable years that will hit the team’s future cap. Restructuring the team’s better players under 30 makes the most sense but relying on it solely to get into cap compliance is a mistake. Eventually those players have to be cut and then their money counts against the cap with nothing to show for it.I don't like being trapped in ANY deals. I like normal signing bonuses and salary schedules that allow for maximum roster flexibility. I prefer mostly re-signing our own good players that we drafted to sensible deals over paying some other teams free agents that they let go. We know more about their fit on the field, in the community and locker room and are safer signings. I think we should maximize the draft by trading back to acquire more picks to build the foundation of the team and reward those that are successful.

With modern 24hr news cycle and the rush for the media to be the first to report anything regardless of getting the facts right I don’t think it matters anymore.Wonder if they’ll try the ol’ Friday afternoon news dump thing to announce a Derek Carr extension.
Maybe that was the master plan by Loomis by not wanting to fire Allen mid season. Most of those issues become moot beyond 2026 if you're operating on rookie contract for a QB.
As I look at this draft the top 10 available talents vast majority have warts.
Jeanty - size
Abdul Carter - injury
T-Mac - average length
Mason Graham - size (weighed below 300 lbs)
Will Campbell - Short arms/lack of premium length
Will Johnson - Injury/lack of length/questions about speed
Travis Hunter appears to be the only sure thing talent.
I'm leaning towards being ok w/ the Saints moving up to select Cam Ward if that's who they want.
What frustrates me is that had we just stuck w/ Allen we would have lost more and would have been in better position to get to #1. Those wins late in the season under Rizzi did 0 to help the overall cause.
It’s not a credit card. ML is just overpaying for underperforming guys and backloading contracts in a way that forces us to keep them. It’s worst than credit card debt because there is not bankruptcy or charge offs in the NFL.
This account has been pretty accurate with rumors over the past year. Seems likely we are going to bring back Chase Young. I'm all for it. Thought he showed enough flashes last year to bring him back. Generated a ton of pressures/hurries. Wouldn't be surprised to see him have a breakout year with sacks. Hard to believe he is still just 25 years old with how long he's been in the league.
