Saints Cap Moves: $27,092,090 cap space ….. 8 restructures, 3 extensions, 3 pay cut, 1 release [All current cap moves are in OP] (96 Viewers)

So called "sports reporters" act a lot more like influencers these days than they do actual reporters. They are all more heavily invested in coming across as experts and telling people what they should think. They all get really testy when teams, coaches and players don't do what they've spent a lot of time preaching that they should do.

I think it's because it undermines their credibility and if they lose that, then they lose their job. That's a lot of stress to be under, so I get why they get so upset and lash out at people who don't do what they've been telling everyone that those people should do.
Excatly, Nick's article says multiple times that he does not blame DC for not taking a pay cut but the whole article infers that yes he should have taken a pay cut. Typical Nick playing both sides of the fence.

So after reading the reports that Kellen wants Carr for this season I started thinking back to the hiring process. Remember when there were reports he didn’t like our QB room or potential QB room? What if during the interview process Loomis is also laying out some of the Saints plans for 2025. And he tells Kellen that they are thinking of releasing Carr and rolling with our young guys plus maybe trying to sign a cheap veteran backup. Kellen hears this and says he doesn’t like it. He wants a veteran QB aka Carr. So it gets reported that he doesn’t like the QB room and everyone just assumes he doesn’t want Carr. When in fact it was the opposite.

Loomis really wants Kellen so he lets him know that they will work towards keeping Carr and Kellen is hired. Pure speculation but it fits all the data and information we now know.

It's possible that's how it happened. What seems very unlikely at this point is that Carr is being forced on Moore or that Moore doesn't really want Carr and is just stuck with him.

Is carr better than hurts ? Eagles O line better? Yes can Kellen Moore create more offense plays for Carr and the offense? End a weak division.

LOL when you have a HOF QB play for you for 15 yrs there's not much reason to use a 1st rd pick on a QB . AND we have not had any 1st rd QB busts either. Might want to ask the Browns , Jets, 49ers Bucs, and about 10 other teams how drafting a 1st rd QB worked out for them
So, because we had a HOF QB for 15 years (out of the 50+ years referenced) that’s justification for not taking a QB in the 1st round? Brilliant logic.

That was Russini chasing clicks, she said that the scuttlebutt was that KM didn't like the QB room so that would be the reason he turned down the job. KM said that he wanted the job from the get go. so Russini was wrong.

More than likely in the meeting KM laid out his plan for what to do @ the QB position and ML agreed with it. ML did say that KM had a really good plan when they met

This goes for more than just sports reporters. At some point people began believing that their way is the best way to run/fix a football team and when the team doesn’t follow their exact lead, all hell breaks loose and tantrums get thrown. It wasn’t always like this.
