Pettis may be a vet min deal. Justin’s cap hit, Chase’s new cap hit and Tyrann’s cap savings brings the cap space to around $8 million. Thats pushing upon the draft pick cap room.

Assuming Becton is a $10 million AAV, it feels like adding Becton’s potential first year cap hit of 5.5M-6M requires Taysom to rework his deal. His cap savings would be near 6M.

Saints would need to still have operable cap space above the draft pick cap pool (about $6.7M) for a few more cheaper depth signings. Becton would take the cap space down to around 11M as is.

You know, that's probably a great point. I thought for sure Wilson would be a goner, but the point you raise makes sense. Unless they get into some sort of bind where they absolutely need his money, he probably sticks around through camp at least.

we have yet to see any details on the reported pay cut for Cam and from what has been reported the Mathieu cut isn’t a real pay cut unless at the end of the upcoming season he doesn’t reach 81% of defensive snaps. Even then the reduction in salary will only credit next years cap.
