Saints Cap Moves: Derek Carr restructured, Erik McCoy restructured; J. Williams released; cap space is at -$8,543,537 (79 Viewers)

I've already broke it down in other posts. We are about 16th and that's only b/c of Carr, DD, Cam and Taysom. Remove those guys and we drop significantly. It's not hard to understand.
So you’re saying Adam Schefter was wrong in his calculations?

And you’re making my point. That’s all our leaders, remove those guys and THEN culture is rebuilt/established.

I added the link just for you. We are 16th.

1 year and 2 months is the difference between the youngest roster and us. It's not that big of a deal.
Ok so you missed or ignored where I stated starters. I’m not too interested in age of players who don’t play.

I think "explore the market" means he wanted to see what his market value was before actually renegotiating the contract, similar to what Stafford and the Rams did. I don't think it necessarily means Carr wanted to leave the team. He might have wanted to leave, but he might have just wanted to find out his market value before doing a new contract.
K I’m

he was never going to get the majority of the fan base to like him. They showed that when they ridiculed him the day he drove into the city and took the kids to Chipotle for dinner.

No one is excited about 8-9 seasons. Don’t be silly.

You do realize that without this move today, you’re basically forced to kick the can with most of the older guys on the team with your hand forced, you’re letting all of your own free agents walk, and you’re basically sitting next week out and can’t sign anyone until the summer time when all that’s left is the scrap heap, right?
Not only that but If we had 6/1 Carr we would not have had that 29mil back till 6/2 and would not have been able to sign our rookie class and they would have missed rookie mini camps. Also if we did not throw away the season by starting Rattler and we signed a cheap vet QB ( cheap being around 8-10mil) we would be wasting that $ of the 29 mil we got back on 6/2

But please don't let that get in the way of the Carr and Loomis hate . These are the people that would rather see the plane that they are on crash because they hate the pilot and the navigator

Because your statement that Brees was almost done so we needed to take a QB in the 1st was ridiculous. As evident by our record from 2017 -2020. THAT'S the point There was not a need to take a QB in the 1st at that time.
GB likes to groom their QBs so they take them late 1st rd and the jury is still out on Love. And Rodgers was not as you say " Almost Done" And the Packers situation has nothing to do with the fact that SP did not feel the need to take a QB in the 1st after 2017
Why do you think we weren't advancing in the playoffs? It's because Brees couldn't throw farther than 15 yards. We absolutely needed to draft a QB during those years and to say otherwise is foolish.

If the plan is to rebuild through free agency, the biggest issue is QB. There’s many philosophies but how do you get a good one if you’re never at the top of the draft? This is the closest we’ve been to the #1 pick since 2008, and that was still only pick #7.
Hurts, Love, Jackson, Purdy, Mahomes, Watson, Dak, Garapollo, Wilson, Cousins , Dalton. These are all good QBs that were drafted 10th or later in the draft. Even if we have a pick in the mid to late teens that's easily sticking distance to trade up to get a franchise QB

It’s crazy as far as I could remember we have one of the most accepting fan bases across all of sports all of a sudden not so much ig he’s just an anomaly

Please just stop, you are embarrassing yourself. We would have been in the SB in 2018 if not for the no call. . In 2020 if Cook would not have fumbled we would have beat the Bucs and went to the NFCCG. Losing in the playoffs had NOTHING to do with the strength of Brees's arm
Have a look at these passes he threw in 2019 . That's a pretty good bit further than 15yds don't you think? SMH

Well, that’s your opinion, but others, like Mike Triplett, view this as a clear sign the Saints are keeping their foot on the gas pedal, as opposed to rebuilding. So who’s correct? We shall see. I’m interested to read what Nick Underhill writes about all this.
The Saints don’t believe in rebuilding. Never have! Rebuilding does not guarantee success long term. It’s way too risky.
