Some love for the Saints D:

By Kevin Patra, NFL.com

The New Orleans Saints ripped the mustache off Minshew Mania on Sunday.

For the first time all season, Gardner Minshew looked like a rookie against a Saints defense that battered, confused and discombobulated the signal-caller.
Minshew completed just 14 of 29 passes for 163 yards, no TDs, one INT and a 51.4 passer rating in the 13-6 loss. It was the first time the rookie completed less than 50 percent of his pass attempts, the first time he hasn't scored a TD, and he earned a career-low in passing yards.

Sunday marked the second time in three games, the Saints' D held an opponent to 10 or fewer points, joining the Patriots (3), 49ers (2) and Bears (2) as the only teams to allow 10 or fewer points multiple times this season (entering "MNF").

“They did a really good job taking away our quick stuff."

This is a huge key and something the Bears offense does a lot.

What I found to be impressive was that some of the looks we gave them made it appear as if the quick shots would be there. Credit our linebackers and safeties for knowing their responsibilities and getting into prime position after the snap.

The Saints d hasn't helped rookie quarterbacks look like Gods in several years so I was never worried about porn guy beating us.
lordy i remember those, any team coming in with a rookie or backup QB most often had a pro bowl type game against our D on regular basis to the point you could bet money on it

Yup, I remember I think it was Quinn Gray, kinda fat Jacksonville QB that came into the dome and lit us up like a Xmas tree. Pathetic D at the time.

The entire defense is playing lights out! Marshon Lattimore looks to have turned a corner after two shaky games to start the season. According to next gen stats, Minshew was 1-7 for 23 yds and an INT when throwing at Lattimore. Can you say elite?!

The young Jags QB is a real throwback. I haven't seen anyone wearing a foo min shew in years.

I kept expecting every team we played to bench their starting QB when playing us thus upping their odds of getting the win.

it really was a situation where if the other teams QB went out it was cause for concern about our chance to win instead of the other way around

we started off RGIII career in game one and made him look like the next tom brady lol
