I'm hear in Dallas. The regular seasons have been great. There have been major collapses in the playoffs. I am 50/50 about the Saints trying to hire him.

Gimme a potential quick flame out over known mid-nessAt least with McCarthy you know what you are getting. These young OC's are complete unkowns when it comes to being a head coach. They can be the next great coach in this league or they can flame out in a year or two.

Are you from the future? Can you tell me who won? I'd like to make some money . . .That’s a tough division. A 14 win team just played a wildcard road game in that division.
He's not a bad coach or anything. He's pretty good with the players and scheme is solid enough.
Still, he's not the guy I would want when we are heading towards a total rebuild...that is the danger of Loomis making this hire and still trying to be within a 'win now' window. We all saw what a house of cards this roster was--and it's only getting older and more stagnant with aging veterans that we are forced into keeping or re-structuring. It's time for a younger HC to lead and build while we take our medicine for a few years.
OMG the Saints have the potential to do the funniest thing of all time!YES please.
How sweet would it be to take Dallas' coach and then beat them and go win a super bowl.
I would LOVE to be able to gloat about that to cowboys fans!
I wouldn't call them great. Thanks to the defense, Dallas was able to stay in some of those games. Offense has a lot left to be desired, especially with the pieces that they have.I'm hear in Dallas. I think there was an exclusive negotiating window after contract expiration that was written into his contract.I'm still not clear on the whole "your contract expired but you can't talk to anyone one else for another week" works
And Loomis may already have a good working relationship with him from the 4 years McCarthy was here as offensive coordinator.McCarty is also a guy with the power and experience to tell Loomis that this roster is not ready and needs to be rebuilt. Loomis is going to trust that from a guy with McCarty's experience level whereas maybe he doesn't from a Joe Brady or Kellen Moore.
That part I do agree with...which is why we are not as bad of a destination for a coach as reported...McCarty is also a guy with the power and experience to tell Loomis that this roster is not ready and needs to be rebuilt. The larger problem is can Loomis really survive what is about to become some very lean years?
Whomever eventually fills the power vacuum will want to bring in their own hire--whether it's 1, 2 or 3 years from now...
