Coach with a .608 career win percentage that made the playoffs in 2/3 seasons coached, and that also won a Super Bowl?
I’m in.
Safe pick but McCarthy would be better suited in Chicago than here. Young and talented team that needs good coaching.
Super bowl?YES please.
How sweet would it be to take Dallas' coach and then beat them and go win a super bowl.
I would LOVE to be able to gloat about that to cowboys fans!
That is my thinking as well, as we are in a for a rebuild and I think bringing in a young coach who can grow with the new direction of the team may be in the best interest of this franchise going forward.McCarthy is a guy that could jump to the top of Loomis' list. He's not my favorite choice for HC, but he would be a very safe pick to build this team back to being a playoff contender every year. Dallas has had issues in the playoffs, but outside of this year, they have been there and have had some really good regular seasons.
I'd like a younger, more innovative, and more aggressive coach, but he might be the right guy to bring stability and bring this team back to being consistently in the playoffs. The problem is that I think he would likely only be a short term option given that he is already 61 and doesn't appear to be in great shape. Then again, Andy Reid is still going and Payton is also 61.
Yes but he is someone who can heal some of the wounds for them. But either way I am fine with it if he is hired here. But wouldn't be my first choice. That’s a tough division. A 14 win team just played a wildcard road game in that division.
Remember, Mike McCarthy already has history with the Saints as OC under Jim Haslett, I believe. He was also in the running for HC when Payton was interviewed. McCarthy took GB and Payton took NO instead of heading out to interview with the Raiders. The rest, as they say, is history.Coach with a .608 career win percentage that made the playoffs in 2/3 seasons coached, and that also won a Super Bowl?
